Well, he's not a #1, but he can certainly be a #2 in a team with a balanced offense. If you want to put this much weight in preseason, he certainly was better than Eller.

Oh, they certainly can, and hopefully will be. But some have the habit of poopting on Desharnais' head (even though every criticism about his play last year was justified) without ever questioning Eller's play, whereas there still are questions mark. IMO Eller will turn into a very good 3rd line center. Is offensive acumen is limited, but he's starting to be pretty great defensively. I think Desharnais can thrive as a 2nd center between Plekanec and Eller, waiting for Galchenyuk to develop.
