people talk about Murray's lack of speed as though it's a new thing. The guy has played one bad season in the NHL. It's the most recent one he's played.

It's Hal Gill all over again, though I'll admit there's more potential for Murray to prove people right about his inability.

Tough to judge players on parts of the game they aren't hired to have, re Murray and speed.

By the same token, Raphael Diaz is a purely offensive defenseman who can move the puck well and skate well. In his own end, he can't even push Cory Conacher off the puck. If he isn't producing, he's of no use to the team.

If Murray isn't blocking shots, hitting players, crosschecking in front of the net, he's of no use. Let's stop talking about him rushing, or making great passes or being fast enough.

- EricEngels

Diaz might be the softest, most timid player i've ever seen. you know that .gif that makes life worth living for Leaf fans, the one where Orr sucker-punches Bourque? you ever notice that there's a guy right behind Bourque who doesn't even flinch or do anything when that happens? it's Diaz. and sorry, but he doesn't bring enough offense to compensate for his lack of strength, toughness or defensive acumen.

no, I meant a slapshot with half a windup. There are very few players that still take that kind of shot. It's from the 50s. It's Plekanec's shot of choice... I'm trying to think of a few others that still shoot like that...

Price has one good game: LOOKS SHARP, TAKE IT HATERS!

Diaz sucks during preseason: Well guess his career is finished he was only good last season.

Desharnais has a great camp: TARDE HIM FOR NOTHING!

- _nay_

Agree on the Price statement.

Didn't know Diaz "had" such a great season last year. Wanted him gone then too...

Desharnais has been brutal all camp. Just because his two linemates are trying to boost confidence in him, doesn't make it true.

Conacher can skate circles around Murray. Can't wait to see Murray agaisnt Detroit with Datsyuk and Zetterberg circling the puck around his slow fat ass. There is faster and younger guys I'd rather getting NHL experience rather than him.

He hasn't. All he's done is play hockey, but nothing to show that he's a #1 or even #2 in the NHL. He hasn't controlled the puck and won battles in the corners like Pac said he did. Sure he did win some, but so did McCarron. Doesn't make him NHL ready.
