We still cry about Michael Leighton giving up the ghost in Game 6, and Jeff Carter spitting the bit before that.
We still cry about Patrick Sharp getting traded, for God's sake.
But OMG, because MJL hasn't seen it, there's no way whatsoever the guy who scored two goals in Game 7 to win a Stanley Cup, who was drafted by that team, would EVER, and I mean EVER, be asked about why he's leaving!

So where do we stand with the 3rd line wing spot? Vandevelde? - PhillySportsGuy
Methinks it's either Laughton, Talbot, a UFA option, or Ryan Jones (I think he's up for the taking?). I think VandeVelde will only be good enough to earn a 2-way contract, not an NHL spot. |

Who knows.
Maybe they actually get a live body in return for whatever defenseman they decide to trade (if they decide to trade one) and that live body happens to be a 3rd line winger.
Or, maybe they think VandeVelveeta is the guy? He's a decent sized player, but is he good enough to play on that wing? I'm not even sure what he's good at.
Or, maybe they want a longer look at Laughton for his 9 game tryout and they slide Adam hall over to fourth line wing and move up Talbot.
I'd believe anything at this point, up to and including, the team bringing back Tye McGinn to play that role. |

You are the single craziest poster I've ever seen. Are you honestly telling me, and this board, that because you didn't read stories about Maxime Talbot -- the same guy who scored two goals in Game 7 to win Pittsburgh a cup, the same guy who signed with a hated divisional, cross-state rival -- wouldn't have been asked by a beat writer about WHY he's leaving, and the GM wouldn't be asked about why he left him leave?
You're telling me that those questions wouldn't have been asked, and answered, and reported? Seriously? I need to provide you with links to it, because YOU haven't read it and YOU don't believe it?
You know, somebody said it earlier: I need to just get away from this board. Because...wow. You are the most delusional poster I've ever seen. - AllInForFlyers
I didn't tell you any of that! LOL I said I'd be happy to look at the information you offered. And we read that the Flyers offered Cleary a deal for over 2M a year in the newspaper. In which Holmgren denied was true. Now who knows what really happened, but the point is don't believe everything you read from the beat writers.
Anyway, I'm more interested in looking at the 3rd line issue. I provided some facts that show that a guy like Talbot has enough offensive ability to play on the 3rd line. And I dont agree that playing with Read and Talbot is going to stunt Couturier's development as a player. |

Look, everyone knows how you feel right now. No reason to leave just because of him. If you just change your perception, its kind of funny and a little sad to read his posts. |

Whether Vandevelde makes the team or not, it's very likely that he get's a 2 way deal. I find it hard to beleive that he would get a one way deal from his current status of having an AHL deal. |

but in all seriousness, possibly they'll try to swap one of grossmann, meszaros, gustafsson for a winger early in the season? (once drej gets a few games under his belt to prove he doesn't have one foot in the glue factory) |
