When did Peter Andersson decide to switch from D to become a goalie?

I forget who suggested (maybe it was Fosco) picking him up on waivers should it ever occur; but Bob Mackenzie said on the TEAM1040 this afternoon that Jim O'Brien is on waivers today. Would be a good pick up for the 4-line.

Yup, that was Fosco and I agree.

Would be a huge pick up over having Weise and Sestito on the roster at the same time.

Sedins-Kassian
Higgins-Kesler-Burrows
Booth-Santerelli-Hansen
Richardson-O'Brien-Gaunce

I wouldn't mind seeing this line-up once everybody is off suspension or healthy

I'd take him over both of those guys as well, easily. Better than Ryan Jones at 1.5 million too.

So Matt Sekeres just tweeted that Gillis said it may not be in the best interest for Gaunce to play in the NHL this year and he goes on to say that it sounds most likely that Bo and Hunter make it...according to him. Also says if Corrado isn't the 6th Dman he gets sent down.

Ottawa is the other team that I follow very closely, and I made a point of watching O'Brien play in the WHL against the Giants - so I've seen a fair bit of him over the past few years at various stages of his development. At this point he's a pretty generic utility player with some PK upside, but with no really defineable characteristics to his game. He's not really physical or tough, he's got speed but limited agility and balance, he's pretty much an offensive black hole at the NHL level, and has consistently been sub-.500 on faceoffs. As such he's entirely replaceable in Ottawa, which is why he's the first player to be shaken loose in a year where they could theoretically lose multiple players to waivers. And from a Canucks perspective, if they hadn't signed the likes of Richardson and Santorelli, I might have agreed with the notion of picking him up off of waivers - but as it stands, I'm inclined to say that he's really only useful if Gillis wants to carry a cheap 5th centre on the roster.

If Corrado isn't the 6th Dman he should get send down. Let Alberts sit in the pressbox and feel shame by himself.

Hmm that's interesting to say the least, by "make it" did he mean 9 game tryout or full time spot? Thanks for posting.

I don't listen to the Team 1040 unless Gillis is on or if I'm driving during a game.

It would be BS if Corrsdo isn't the 6th d-man over Weber and Alberts IMO. Canucks fans are always complaining about not playing the kids and from the sounds of it one or both of Shinkaruk/Horvat will at least get 9 games so Corrado deserves to be in Vancouver and playing.

Thanks for the info. He still sounds better than Sestito to me, his numbers don't look too bad for a 4th liner at all. Ottawa is loaded with depth at front so getting waived by the Sens isn't as bad as the Oilers(Ryan Jones).

My post -work doobie is going to be a weed & hash with a couple of 2nd generation roaches added in for the full skull-f*ck effect. I don't know if that is inflammatory enough?

Alberts is going to be firmly planted in the press box barring injury. It's going to come down to Corrado and Weber and I haven't watched any preseason games so I only know what I've read, which has been very little about Corrado. How has he performed in the preseason so far? I hear Weber has been... inconsistent...

Weber was a lock, then he was being sent down, then he's 50/50...

Corrado has been simple yet effective, nothing flashy, but I've only watched bits an pieces of 3 games.

I think Weber could be much better if he wasn't always paired with Alberts, put him with Hamius and see what happens.

Excellent point you homo-sapien.

Edit just to be safe. Micah may not appreciate my sense of humour on that one.
