He is a center but they have him doing both as he adapts. I guess.

Thanks. I was hoping for a third line of Ott, Girgs, and Foligno.

Is Girgenson a future center or wing? I thought he was going to be a center, but I was told today that he was not.
- rmiethaner

They started him out on the wing in Rochester last year and eased him in. He slowly moved up the ranks while at the LW position. By the end of the year, he was the top line center. When they made the trade for Larsson, he ended up moving back and forth from LW to C a bunch. The two of them have good chemistry so to be honest, I don't care who's in the middle and who's on the W as long as they produce.

He asked to be switched to center at the end of last season, so he played there a little. I thought they would move him there this season. It only stayed that way for a game or two at Traverse City. Been on wing since.

Rolston stated that he is slotted to be a left winger for now.

Thanks. I know you watch a lot of the Rochester games, so do you think that Girgensons is on the big club this year? Larsson next year?

Thanks. If he is with the Sabres this year, probably best that he play wing for a year.

I personally think he could benefit from being on the top line and playing the really big/important minutes for Rochester this year. No need to rush him. I'd rather seem him getting those type of minutes there than less than 10 a night here.

I think he could handle being here but in the long run he probably could use another half a year in the A.

I don't know as much about Larsson since he was a late season addition and only some of the preseason games have been televised. I do like what he's done so far and I like the chemistry he seems to have with Girgensons. They've both been great defensively at the AHL level, so hopefully that translates over the the NHL as well.

Or switch back and forth. NHL is a little different . If he adapts real quik. Then center it is for him.

It sucks that they can't send Grigo to the A. He really could benefit from getting some time there. Regier said yesterday when he was on with Schopp and the Bulldog that they can only send him there on a 14 day conditioning stint. That's it. They asked for an exception because of how he doesn't have a contract in the Q, but the CHL won't allow it.

That might work say 10 games in if we don't see any improvement. He could be waiting for the real season to exert himself ?
He just might be one of those type players . Damn him.

How are your cats? I should take notes from you. My rescue cat hates everyone except me. And the dogs.

Some cats only like 1 person. I had a cat like that before. Probably nothing you did in particular that made it that way, just how it was probably always going to be.

They're awesome, actually. The boy is the only one that will hang out with strangers, but they're all just really fun to have around. If their good with the dogs and you, you've pretty much won I think.

Maybe it's been discussed, but I think it's a joke that the local media (WGR and TBN) are killing the Sabres for what Scott did in the brawl last weekend. These are the same guys who pummeled the entire Sabres organization for the Miller-Lucic fiasco, and rightfully so. Regier has taken steps to bring in guys like Scott and Ott to complement players like Kaleta, Weber and Foligno, not to mention drafting bigger and tougher players recently, so that situation never happens again and now they're getting bashed for it. You can't have it both ways.

Anyway, I am pumped about the season! Can't wait.

I have 2 cats. My female is friendly, but she can be standoffish at first. My male will go right up to anyone. As long as they're over the age of 10. He's terrified of little kids. He's also terrified of dogs.

Yeah, I agree. He was found it some fields almost dead. When I got him, half of his whole body was ripped up. He must have been abused and that is why he does not trust anyone.

Probably. My really friendly one hasn't had any other home. He was from a litter my now deceased cat had before I got her fixed. The female I got from the Ten Lives Club. She was born there because her mother was brought in to the rescue pregnant. Both are spoiled rotten.
