Hodgson?
- sbroads24

(frank) I knew I was forgetting someone. I'm obviously too tired/out of it to be talking about this stuff

Vanek-Grigorenko-Girgensons

Leino-Hodgson-Foligno

Ott-Ennis-Stafford

---4th line---- (maybe keep Larsson in the AHL to start with) I kinda like this set up. Not sure I'd make that line the 1st line but there's a nice balance of skill and grit on each line no?

Flynn IMO will be a good player this year. Might end up getting PP time or a decent amount of ice time

Yea I figure he'll be here on opening day as well but part of me thinks the emergence of Larsson and Girgensons may leave him without a spot. He could be trade bait at the deadline or draft.

Guys . just an opinion.

The difference between 1st line and 4th line is the amount of ice time you get during a game . If our so called 3rd line seems to be producing more than our so called 4th line . than so be it. 3rd line gets more minutes that night. We all know not every line will be the it on any given night. Thats why we have seen Ellis, McCormick, Mair. or whoever playing with the so called first line . Comes down to who is having a good night the night.

That's definitely true to a point. But usually a teams 4th line isn't anywhere near as productive than the rest of them.

It's going to be interesting to see what they do with the injuries to Tropp and Armia. They'll both start the season on IR here I'm guessing since they can't send them down hurt and they can't afford to have them sitting around here taking up roster space if they can't actually play.

That's basically what I'm saying. If Scott is in the lineup, then it's definitely a 4th line. But if we have 12 hockey player in the lineup any one of the 4 lines could be the go to line on any given night

Girgensons and Larsson both can come and go whenever. They don't have 9 game tryout limits because they're not Jr players. The only guy we have on the current roster with the 9 game limit is Zadorov.

The 9 game limit is important so a prospect's ELC can continue to slide.
Zadorov, Girgensons and Ristolainen are in this boat.

Larsson ELC started last year when he turned pro in the AHL as a 20 year old.

Yes, and his ELC slid a year, because he started in the AHL as an 18 year old.

Is Girgenson a future center or wing? I thought he was going to be a center, but I was told today that he was not.

I don't think they care about that though. That's not what they're thinking about in terms of who's going to be here and who's not.

He is a center but they have him doing both as he adapts. I guess.
