Ok, first off, the Rangers won't finish last lol, but good blog though, well done. The Rangers will probably make the playoffs, but I do agree this team is in trouble...

And FINALLY!!!!! Someone has said what I've been wanting to say for a couple of years now, RICK NASH IS MASSIVELY OVERRATED!!!! The man is a PURELY a one-dimensional player, with ZERO defensive upside, and yes I watch Rangers games as well as my beloved Flyers. People put him as a lock on the first line of Canada... They say he's the best winger in the game, BOLLOCKS! LMFAO!!!

His numbers AREN'T EVEN ELITE!!?!?!! He is just consistent with putting up, more or less, the same offensive output each season. Rick Nash is a great player, NOT an elite one or superstar.

Name a better canadian left wing. The Right side is very good with Perry, St. louis, Eberle etc.

wow it's surprisingly refreshing to have fans of rival teams come in here arguing that the rangers are gonna make the playoffs.
- rangerdanger94

lol, the Rangers will, almost certainly, but some very good points are raised in the blog. Well done.

hall is the only candidate.

nash might not get the 1st line spot (even though i think he will) because they may play a center like stamkos or tavares that can snipe and score on the wing since they're so deep down center.

Ummm, I think you misunderstood the actual premise of the blog sir. It's called satire.

So if stepans hit is 3.25, who gets dumped to fit under the cap?
- FourFeathers773

Apparently you've never heard of waivers. All the Rangers need to do is send Asham or Powe. Waiving one of them would force the Rangerss to keep 100k of their contracts on the books.

Taylor Hall, James Neal, Dany Heatly (pre-last season), and I'd even argue Andrew Ladd is a better overall player to have...

Actually, I think it was meant to convey some truth behind the satire/sarcasm... Either way, I'm glad that someone has said it, or put it out there to be discussed. I just don't get why people go nuts over Nash when his numbers aren't that great, he's one dimensional, and is the beneficiary of being the ONLY star on a team for almost a decade... He is a great player, all-star worthy, elite or franchise? Not even close or arguable.

i think he's a franchise player and elite for sure. just because he hasn't had the gift of playing with extremely talented teams like neal does with malkin/crosby/letang or hall does with eberle/nugenthopkins/schultz/yakupov or a winger on chicago like kane does with toews/hossa/sharp/keith, he hasn't been able to put up unreal numbers or do any damage in the postseason.

after watching him for so many games last season, i've never seen anyone in the game as big as him skate so well, have such amazing hands, and use his power so effectively. his playmaking and vision are extremely underrated as well.

In his overall game? There is LITERALLY no question about it? Are you THAT MUCH of a homer that you can't see it? The ONLY thing Rick Nash does better than Ladd is score goals.... That's it. Ladd is a better two-way player, Ladd is more physical, Ladd blocks more shots, and Ladd even had more points on a much poopter team this past season...

My point is overall game here. Rick Nash is obviously a good player and I'm not saying he isn't. But he is NOT franchise material, and I can't even think of anything that would qualify him as franchise material...

Listen if you don't think Rick Nash isn't an elite player in this league then you don't know the game of hockey. The guy is so dangerous with the puck and one of the very few players that can beat multiple players with the puck. The guy has silky smooth hands and his shot is right up there with the best. The guy was in hockey hell playing in Columbus and we are going to judge Rick Nash over a shortened season last year. Give me a (frank)ing break. Listen I am not saying he is on the level of Crosby, Toews, Kane, Malkin, Tavares, OV, and even Giroux when it comes to all around game but when it comes to Offensive talent very few are on Rick Nash's level.

Of course he moves and skates well. I never said he didn't. He's arguably the best skating big-man in the league... I'm just saying I personally don't think he is franchise material... I'd rather have a guy on my team who does more and gives more to the team concept than Rick Nash.

Ladd doesnt have the ceiling that Nash has offensively, but Ladd is a better player over 200 ft of ice.

better defensively, better leader, more physical

not to mention Ladd has two cups on two different teams and now is captain on a third different team and is hitting his stride offensively

TSN has Giroux above Tavares in rankings along with numerous other players who are not as good as JT.

Wait, how is it beneficial to be the only star on your team?
