If Rangers come out flat the first month or two does a coaching change happen?
- mighty13duck

If the Rangers falter maybe even a GM change as well.

It is a good thing that I am unable to watch Rangers' pre-season hockey, because I don't have any of the angst about the season that some may have. It is going to be a challening start, playing on the road, with two Top 6 forwards missing, and another behind the curve because of not having much of a camp, but if they can get through it somewhere around the .500 mark, they'll be fine.

On the roster, I would really like to see Kreider make this team, and see what he has. Also, although Miller didn't bury the puck alot last year, I thought he was pretty darn good with the Rangers given his relative youth, so I would like to see him on the roster as well.

Was that even a serious question?

I think the Rangers are likely to get off to a tough start. A nine game road trip, to start the season, is absolutely brutal for any team. Last time that happened the team went 3-3-3. I think I can safely say I would take an NHL ".500" record at the start of this season as well.

Obviously I would love for them to run the table, or come close to that, but that is too much to ask I feel.

No matter what happened this week; I am very much looking forward to the start of the season. The games count from here on in.

Yea especially missing 2 of your top 6 forwards, and having your top center a little behind the eight ball. It may be a rough start. But the potential of this team is high, just got to stay healthy.

Yea I agree, can't remember the last time I was this excited to get going.

The results weren't there but the Rangers looked pretty good in the offensive zone most of the time. The kids looked pretty good for the most part. The veterans looked like they were just trying to avoid injury, to be honest.

Hank will be fine, he probably just has to adjust to the new equipment, get comfortable with that and the new system in place. He's too good to continue to look like he did the last two exhibition games.

Stepan being available for opening night is enormous. Hopefully Callahan and Hagelin are not too far behind.

If Isles come out flat a goaltending change would need to happen, although I wouldn't mind a coaching change

A coaching change takes a long time to adjust to. The caps last year were in the basement of the standings for the first 20 games and then won their division.

Id cry if we went 0-10 to start the season but I wouldn't go that crazy if we were 5-5.

Same, any variation of NHL .500 or a game below is definitely ok with me.

A new system, a tough nine game road trip, likely two of their top six wingers out of the lineup at the start; needless to say this won't be a smooth start to the season. But, I am ok with that, as long as they hang in there and show improvement with each passing game.

When healthy, this is a pretty talented team, with some youngsters that look like they are going to be legitimate NHL players on the horizon.
