If they hit that mark "again" you guys will be coasting to the playoffs. It could happen no denying that.

he was fine. had a really nice set up on the Galchenyuk goal. was a gimme for him. he's everything you expect. his vision is something special and he's still pretty quick. but he's so damn small. with him and Desharnais on the same line i don't see how they'll be able to maintain pressure.

from what i recall he should have covered up that first goal but otherwise he did look sharp. have to keep in mind that there was no Karlsson, Spezza, Ryan, Michalak. would have preferred to see him get the Wednesday game to get a better picture of where he is.

He will have a pretty good year, it's next year that worries me.
He's got to start stringing them together.

Yeah but at the same time, the defense the habs put out there wednesday was god awful.

Hence why I was questioning why even bother playing preseason games if you don't use them to test your system and really see what the team will look like on day 1 of the season.

Having 2 teams at camp until the very last minute is counterproductive imho.

Always took him a while to get going the previous years, looks like he is ahead of schedule. Playoffs are on him this year...no pressure. I guess he will have to earn his 6M+ salary

IMO at the very least, if you're out there facing a shooting gallery, your timing is getting tuned up. but yeah it'll take a few weeks to know what we're dealing with when it comes to Price. and if he does get off to a good start, what happens when he hits that first bump in the road? because he never seemed to recover from that last year.

So his early start means he'll crumble in February instead of March???

Eller had some good shifts.Ottawa was missing their first line

But Diaz looked out of place

- blarneylad

Not trying to be a troll but Ottawa was missing there 1st, 2nd and 3rd line and only had one NHL defenceman (Cowan). Other than Zibj, Smith, Anderson and Conacher (who is still fighting for a spot) Ottawa iced an AHL team. Montreal looked pretty sloppy until the 3rd, it's pre-season so it's to be expected but I would have thought Montreal would have dominated more. Plekanics is awesome and Briere looks great. It's a meaningless game but no team can come out that slow for 2 periods and expect to win a NHL games.

Good news is, this is something he can work on.

I mean, you can't turn a sieve into a great goalie, but you can work on his character and how he approaches each game. Hopefully, his new coach will address that.

La ligne à Desharnais commence à développer de la chimie mais collectivement, ça manque franchement de synchronisme. Diaz et Moen par contre, c'est sans espoir
