i mean come on. Sens are better everywhere. goalie, D, forwards, coaching. only areas we win are owner and speech impediments.
- scotch_tape

Judging by he playoffs last year, I don't know how anyone can claim Montreal is better than the sens... The habs got destroyed at every level.

I don't believe they are better. You can break it down by position, but I don't see them as a better team than the Canadiens. I'm not saying the Canadiens are better than them, either.

1) If Pacioretty scored 28, 29, it certainly won't be a disappointment. The Habs have the most spread offense in the East.

2) 30 wins is still a pinnacle for any goaltender in the league, especially one on a 50-50 playoff team.

3) 6 20 goalscorers is a lot. But, like I said, projections and averages will have to count if a given player suffers an injury.

That said,
I said Subban will lead the team in scoring, so I have him with 20 or more. Plekanec had one season under 20 over his last 7 (he had 14 last year in half a season), I got him as a lock to score at least 20. I have Gionta scoring 22 or more, so he's in there for me. I have Pacioretty scoring 30 or more, so ditto.

Between Bourque, Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Briere and Eller, certainly two of them can score 20 goals or more.

- EricEngels

As I said a couple of years ago....D men just don't score 20 anymore. Not a shot at PK at all. I think he's awesome.

PLekanec...had a bigger role in the past...but I will give you that one.

Gionta...doubt he stays healthy (not sure why).

Pacioretty.....100%

Galchenyuk and Gallagher...likely.

That's 4.....and some hopes.

As for Price. Last full season 17 goalies had at least 30 wins. It's not really the pinnacle anymore. If he plays 65 games...which he should....30 should be a lock.

i think at their best, the Sens are better. but i don't believe that series was representative of the gulf between the teams. i mean it was Craig Anderson vs. Peter Budaj for OT of game 4 and game 5.

I think Montreal's offense is better.
Ottawa's D is better--not by much.
Ottawa's goaltender has been better--no debate, and Lehner is a better back up than Budaj. It's a new year... eager to see how it plays out in both cities at the position.

Prospects? No, Ottawa's aren't better.

Coaching??? Why cause Paul Maclean beat Therrien before getting pummeled by Pittsburgh?

Sorry, not giving it to him. Can admit he outcoached Therrien in the playoffs, but both coaches were vital to their team's success last season. I don't think either one of them has the edge on terms of where their team finishes in the standings.

If Ottawa's better than Montreal, it's marginal, and even so, it doesn't guarantee them a higher finish in the standings.
