you guys are just a touch arrogant. 2 seasons ago, the Sens finished 8th in the conference. you guys are acting like it was the core of a championship team that got decimated last year. - scotch_tape
I was trying not to be arrogant. I was just responding to Engels comments. There is a reason why many people are picking the Sens to be contenders this season. I don't think it's because they are overrated.
Ottawa went through a major rash of injuries last year and still squeeked into the playoffs.
They were missing:
#1C (most of the season)
#1W (most)
#1D (most and wasn't the same when he came back)
#3D (all but last few games)
#1G (half the year)
Take that out of any team except maybe the Penguins and Hawks, and they will struggle to make the playoffs.
The Sens have all those guys back and they've added a 30 goal scorer to the mix.
I think the optimism in Ottawa is totally warranted. |

Listen étagère supérieure quinze, you make all kinds of sense here. You guys have a very good team that is fun to watch for sure.
But get one thing straight - NO TEAM IS AS YOUNG AS THE LEAFS!!! - hscesq
There are junior teams older than the Leafs. |

But yeah, the Sens had a bunch of young players that seemed to be ready all the same time.
Very annoying. |

Iam not being arrogant ,and iam sorry if my post,s are coming off this way.We have a very young squad that made some real progress in the last few seasons.
People sometimes forget how young our team is.Our top 4 has three defenders 23 years old or less, the forwards have guys like JGP 20 years old,Conacher 24 ,turris 24,zbad 20,Our ahl team was the youngest down there and until the injuries happened we where among the leagues best.
So yeah iam kinda annoyed that even when we win in grand fashion against the habs in the playoffs some think it was some kind of fluke
- top shelf 15
No one thinks it was a fluke and pretty much everyone here agrees that the Sens are better. But the current Sens roster still has a lot to prove. |

Tinordi made the team, getting some rest, Beaulieu gets a fair chance.
Who is missing?
Tinordi
Murray
Emelin
Prust
Parros
Dumont - Symba007
Murray, Emelin, Parros are injured. Prust had another "therapy day" today
Tinordi has been in every preseason game so far, I think they saw what they wanted to see.
As for Dumont, they probably preferred him to Blunden. |

So unless the baby Sens goon it up tonight, the Habs should win this game easily or else they really suck? |

You're right.
And I'm sure Spezza and Michalek will get hurt yet again. It's almost too predictable.
I do think the Sens have enough depth to manage it though - as long as they aren't season ending injuries of course.
If everyone can be healthy (or near it) come playoff time, I think the Sens can make a push. They still aren't on the same level as Boston (who I'm hoping will be hurting this season after the long run last year) and Pitts (who I'm hoping will continue to rely on Fleury and won't address their goaltending issues). |
