How so?

1. We have a new Potvin.
2. We have a new Darcy Tucker. (he'll be back after 10 games though)
3. Our one-dimensional sniper destroys guys now.
4. Franson is cheap.

During his suspension Leafs management should make it a requirement for Clarkson to watch video of Komisarek's first month as a Leaf. Force the point of not playing beyond your character in to his skull.

Phenom is pushing it. He was good, great at times and bad at times he has no consistency.
- Yeti1181

Yeah, no way was he a phenom. He had some great games but he pretty consistently struggled with rebounds making things a lot harder on the team than was necessary, especially in the playoffs.

I think he's consistent. I just think he needed work on his rebound control, glove hand, stick/five hole. They are all ok, but need some work. Wel see if st croix worked on that with him over the summer.

I say phenom cause he was our best goalie since the eagle...legit!

Selective hearing, selective memory. Reimer was a phenom last year, especially in the playoffs. Carlyle blew the game 7 more than Reims did. How bout a timeout at 4-2 to calm the boys down?? Stupid stupid stupid.
- big_dion

Bingo.

But people say the team collapsed in the last 10 minutes...which is not really true. The Bruins made it 4-2 with well over 10 minutes to go, but didn't score their 3rd goal until the 2 minute mark. We played fine for those 8 minutes. But all Hell broke loose after the 3rd goal.

He was incredible in game 5-6

No doubt he needs some work on his game, but the leafs do play a good game in front of him...surely moreso than the last 5 goalies we have had!

Carlyle addressed that. He said there were TV time-outs when he though it was appropriate to call one. Whether you can believe that is up to you. I don't remember.

Honestly, I don't think there is a goalie in the world that could have prevented that fiasco. The team screwed the pooch, Reimer didn't bail em out, but I believe don't any goalie would have. It was fate

Yeah, the whole team had the collective deer in headlights look. Time to move on, the first game against Boston should be fun.

Agreed. There were rumblings from the Leafs that there were players who didn't want to get on the ice during the last few minutes. It was an epic collapse, but also unbelievably lucky on the Bruins part.

Yeah, for sure. We took a team to game 7 when no one thought we would win a game.

We survived. And came out stronger because of it, I'm sure.

Also, just gotta pitch this out there: I don't think, from what I've seen so far, that Bernier is a Calm/Cool/Collected in net as he is supposed to be notorious for. I've seen a lot of scrambles out of him that I was surprised at.

I know. But if he's gonna shrink the sample size down that far the numbers are meaningless.

Look...I want Bernier to be excellent. I want him to be the goalie in the first half of the Buffalo game and not the guy who whiffed on a clear point shot in the second half.

I also want Reimer to be excellent so he can be traded in the off-season.

- djamon

I didnt purposely shrink the number to my need just looked at last yrs stats. On hockeydb they didnt have nhl totals. Dont get me wrong im typically on the kool aid side of things. Reimer is a great goalie. I just see alot in bernier. Id b happy with either. Bernier just looks good though we havnt found his flaws yet. The media is doing a good promoting this guy as well. I cant wait to see the full line up in action. Even the first 10without clarkson will b a solid team

Good point. You're right in that we haven't seen enough of Bernier to start picking at his faults. We will though...it's what we do.
