I'd like to see stats from Leaf wins and Leaf losses last year. I have a feeling that in wins they were consistently outshot by a lot and in losses may have actually held the shot advantage on the year or at least weren't outshot as bad as they were in wins.

If I'm correct why was that the case?

Coincidence? Sitting on a lead not attacking as much as they would if tied or losing?

Someone find me those stats. I don't want to do the math myself lol.

We did a pretty good job of keeping the shots on the outside, and blocking as well. Idk about your theory but we did get outshot a lot and won a lot of games doing so.

Not necessarily true. I think Lieweike is a big reason why Berny is here. Also you dont need amazing goaltending to be a cup contender. Many goalies made their names in the playoffs (Varly, Holtby, Lehner, Halak). I dont think anyone considers Crawford or Niemi elite goaltenders

Is that really his nickname, or did you just make that shat up?

Glove hand and rebounds come to mind. Sometimes hes also gets psyched out by softies. Overall a solid goalie though. Bernier just has higher potential. What about reimer abd liles for a center
- kylkri

Bernier is not a proven number one, we shouldn't trade our more proven goalie just because we have a guy who may potentially be better. Potential does not equal success.

Reimer's bad glove hand and inconsistent rebound control sucks but his inability to handle the puck without completely (frank)ing up is underrated. Bernier is an elite puck handler. That alone may make a difference.

I'm quite sure that is the case.

The Leafs philosophy about shots was let em shoot from bad angles and long range, take away the key areas, and funnel the shots into a certain area...... on the other side they have guys that are snipers. Guys that shoot and score, not like Ottawa (for the most part last year) that shot and shot and shot but didnt score. IMO shooting and scoring > than shooting a lot and not scoring.

But Corsi says otherwise, which is where I find fault.

and a total failure when it comes to playing the puck..

I like Reimer but like u said Bernier is way ahead in terms of potential..Bernier has the tools/potential to be the Leafs best player and thats something we need in leaf land.. ..

- Fruitcakenipple

There was talk before tim showed up.

No. But if your new boss says go get this guy you do it. I think all of the management take part in the decision making process, but Nonis makes the call. If Nonis knew it would make Liewieke (or however the (frank) you spell it) happy, then not much would need to be said

Well if thats the case it just supports my statement/opinion that Bernier will be the #1 this season and reimer will back him up....

Ur right he isnt. Reimers proven what he is good and bad. He does a decent job n was a big part of last season. I was refering to after bernier takes the 1 spot. Simply lookin at a way to get a number one c n shed salary or at least use it more effectively. In all honesty i dont think either goalie is moved till trade deadline or more likely next summer

I think it would be 'Berns' or 'Bernsy', rather than 'Berny', which sounds kinda gay.

The trade was actually done in February, but then Quick got hurt so Lombardi backed off.

Leiweke has nothing to do with it.
