I was thinking o Reilly in February be nice 1-2 punch.
- Yeti1181

He's kinda soft.. Size skill and speed is what we would want. Maybe NYR would be willing to move Nash+money For Gards + a 1st?

I don't feel bad for anyone in the NHL they are in a highly competitive market it's what they wanted and get paid for. Worrying about people feelings got us blue and white disease and now we are changing it.
- Yeti1181

Yep...I dont feel bad for Reimer he will be traded and have an opportunity elsewhere once Bernier claims that #1...

I figure Bernier is on the Leafs because Carlyle wanted him...The only way Bernier isn't the #1 this year is if he plays like crap..Doubt that happens..
- Fruitcakenipple

I figure Bernier is on the Leafs because of Leiweke.

32% more in their zone??
- burn

28.4 x 1.32 = 37.48. that's where he gets the 32% from, even if it's still a bit off.

I'm asking you..... the article said 32% more time in their zone. What you posted doesn't come close to that.
- burn

I wasn't suggesting that they used those stats, they used some other formula. Without hard stats showing real possession times like they do in soccer there isn't a perfect way of doing it.

I think it's based off shots.

I think they used fenwick close. Google it up if you're curious.

edit: which is shot based

Well they dont grow on trees. I was thinking of just letting bozie and Nazy mature but adding more size on the wing. Kadri loves when he's got a winger blazing past him that he can flip the puck to. Lupul and does that well and so did frattin

Also im a little concerned Clarkson will be too busy skating around with his head up his ass impersonating Darcy Tucker.

He's on the Leafs because management like many fans dont have faith that Reimer could be a goaltender who takes this team to the next level..

Reimer played well last season but u need better than "well" if u want to be a cup contender..If u wanna win in this league u need ya goaltender to be one of the best if not the best player on ya team..Reimer has to many holes in his game to be that guy imo..

Not necessarily true. I think Lieweike is a big reason why Berny is here. Also you dont need amazing goaltending to be a cup contender. Many goalies made their names in the playoffs (Varly, Holtby, Lehner, Halak). I dont think anyone considers Crawford or Niemi elite goaltenders

Meh, goalies less proficient than Reimer have won Stanley cups. It's nice having them both there though I think both are capable of being number one guys.

Could have been the spark, but there was talk for months before Leiweke became the boss.

I'd like to see stats from Leaf wins and Leaf losses last year. I have a feeling that in wins they were consistently outshot by a lot and in losses may have actually held the shot advantage on the year or at least weren't outshot as bad as they were in wins.

If I'm correct why was that the case?

Coincidence? Sitting on a lead not attacking as much as they would if tied or losing?

Someone find me those stats. I don't want to do the math myself lol.

Glove hand and rebounds come to mind. Sometimes hes also gets psyched out by softies. Overall a solid goalie though. Bernier just has higher potential. What about reimer abd liles for a center

Nonis said traded talks started last fall thats long before Lieweike showed up...I guess Nonis could be telling a lie but why would he do that...Maybe he's a puppet..Who knows..
