It's more fun to pretend that he's going to get a 6 year/$36 million deal and wreak havoc on the Flyers cap situation.

You forgot the full NMC.

That game by Syvret was probably the single greatest game by an NHL veteran who never exceeded 60 games played in the NHL.

It was like he wore a cape right there on the ice... just super man, simply amazing.

And to think that they had the balls to jump my price from 137.95 per month to 227 and still not put it on TV is even more appalling. Cant wait to make that phone call on Saturday...

Holy hell, 227 bucks? What do you have that cost that much?

It was probably your 1 year promotion coming to an end and your "regular" rates kicking in.

Verizon FIOS 15/5 plus basic cable is $60 per month including taxes for 2-year term, and the internet speed is about twice as fast as Comcast.

Yep, all those free Showtimes and HBOs and stuff add up. You just call and complain about the jump and they'll load you up on the most recent cut rate programing.

According to Frank Seravalli some major shuffling going on tonight.

Frank Seravalli ‏@DNFlyers 1h
Mark Streit is also scratched. Tye McGinn, Nick Cousins and Ben Holmstrom are on their way down from Glens Falls to play.

Sounds like it's going to be a light load tonight vs. Devils. Scratched: Giroux, Hartnell, Lecavalier, Timonen, Voracek, and others.

It is a bit more for HD... But yeah I'm not displeased with Fios. Particularly for my online games. Comcast has faster speeds "if" you are near a hub, and not everyone is on at the same time. That doesn't matter with Fios. So it's consistent. Makes online gaming so much nicer.

Hey everybody; I am beside myself waiting for next Wednesday night.

Haven't had a chance to read up on the posts yet. I was just wondering what you guys think of Voracek's injury and the timing of it.

(I am assuming the injury is not so severe as to be season threatening) It's unfortunate that he will not get to finish the pre-season and be with the team on the ice in game situations while they are still learning to play as a unit.

But (and I wish there were somewhere I could find this stat) it seems to me that if teams are actually good, both on coaching side and player's knowing/filling their roles, addition by subtraction can be serendipitous. You can learn to play better as a team and you get to evaluate players in new/different roles.

Anyway, who do you all think would take his place in the event he does miss an extended period of time? Is it still a 3 way tie between Raffl/VandeVeld/Laughton?

I'd like to see both Raffl / Laughton. Who knows, maybe one of them will play well enough to raise their value should we need to trade for a D-Man later on.

Just reading around: Per THN (for those who haven't seen it.)

8. Philadelphia. New Flyers Vinny Lecavalier and Mark Streit bring with them a ton of skill and veteran knowhow, but neither player does what Chris Pronger once did for Philly’s defense – and that’s still the biggest issue I have with Ed Snider’s franchise. Streit and Kimmo Timonen are in their mid-to-late 30s, Luke Schenn won’t be a Norris contender anytime soon and the rest of the returning defense corps members are coming off of injuries. I could give them the benefit of the doubt if they had a clear-cut No. 1 goalie, but between Ray Emery’s rebuilt hip and Steve Mason’s un-rebuilt rookie reputation, something tells me the Flyers will struggle the entire season to firm up a playoff spot.

Quite good. Only problem is TCN is not on HD on Fios. So those 5 games a season you only get low-def.

I thought the Talbot/Couturier/Read line looked great. I'd like to see that line to start the Season. We have to remember that not only is Raffl an NHL rookie, but he's also adjusting to the NA game and the smaller rink. For a guy in that situation, he looks very promising to me.

If Coutourier develops into a consistent playmaker, with his size, him and Read will be lethal.

On a completely random side note, I work with mobile devices for a bank. Yes, I work for "the man". We had a conversation about a naming convention for them so we could quickly discuss them and keep an open sign up sheet without making it obvious we had hundreds of dollars in mobile devices or breaking our fairly strict security rules. I just convinced everyone here to name them after G.I. Joe characters.

my Comcast bill was out of control.. kept going higher and higher. for what?
a thousand and thirteen channels of sh!t on the tv to choose from.

Take the $100 per month in savings and invest it. by the time you hit retirement you will have $20-30k extra and will have spent more time using your brain instead of watching toddlers in tiaras

That is awesome. But if I went the costume route ,as a total fan-boy, I would dress up like Gus (Fring?) or Mike from Breaking Bad, my 2 favorite characters. This is going to be epic with the last episode on Sun and the Flyers on Wed.

I agree. And I think Couturier has been their best forward in the pre season games that I've seen.

It's really nice to see him break out. I just wonder how much of that is becasue of pre-season finagling and the competition he's seeing.
I'll look forward to seeing if he continues this level once the season truly begins.

I REALLY don't think that jives with the new feminine initiative... do you?
