"Fleury hasn't had to do anything crazier over the top good but he hasn't done anything horrible either" ......so I guess that's how we're going to judge the way he plays this season. Well, he didn't play horrible...
- kgrpitt

He really hasn't had to make a big save. Defense has done a decent job of clearing out rebounds and keeping the shots wide. The D is looking really good this game. Nice to see the forwards busting their ass to come back check

I agree. I was more or less saying that everyone is watching and waiting for him to make a Fleury type f up that he is known for..

The goal he let in was iffy. He could of came out a little sooner or been more aggressive with the poke check, but he did at least do something

Significantly better effort tonight. Looks like they know it's time to get serious. MAF's been pretty good too.

He wouldn't have been in that situation if Engelland didn't step up and hit Orpik instead of Drew Miller.

I don't think I've seen Orpik since Eng hit him.

Detroit announcers suggesting the Penguins are rubbing it in?

Ummm then don't roll out an AHL team for the Penguins final tune up. Of course they are going to work on the PP, that's sort of the point of meaningless preseason games.

To the first question....no.

To the second statement....of course he is going to say that. He wants to make the team in any position possible.

Finally...I think Iginla has earned to right to want to play the position that he played in several all-star and Olympic games. Don't you?

- stormeyAlterEgo

But, he isn't an all-star or an Olympian any more.

I don't think Beau has to worry about that one, so ... that doesn't hold water.

When Boston crushes our terrified top line in the playoffs again I hope everyone on here sticks to the absurd statments made on this thread. Bylma screwed Iggy and cost us the playoffs last year. Dupuis is an amazing 3rd liner but should be a plug on the top line. Were going to face the exact same team that shamed us last year with the same lineup if were lucky enough to make it out of the first or second round.

When this team gets violated by the first big team we face in the playoffs again Ill be here to lick up all your tears cartman style. Will be nice to see iggy in the finals again tho, dude deserves it after what Bylsma did to him.

I think it's safe to say that Bortuzzo has replaced Engelland. I like Engo but there's no reason I can think of that he should play over Bortuzzo...and obviously Despres when the cap is sorted. Niskanen also had another solid game. It doesn't help that Engo had a terrible flub that left Fleury out to dry and he hurt Orpik...

So I'm just waiting to hear about Glass/Engelland...and with this coaching staff I may be waiting forever.

So, can we expect to see you again in....a few years or something? I don't think I've seen you here before. Now, all I see is doom and gloom? Be gone if that's how it'll be.

What did Bylsma do? Played him out of position with one of the games best centers? Boo freaking hoo! Go kick rocks!

Also check the even strength goals on Duper he is anything but a plug. And you're right if the pens decide to play Boston the same way it would be insanity. If they skate right into the teeth of that team and try and out hit them we will likely see the same results. However I think speed and skill will show itself more in a rematch.
And what would you do differently don't just be a critic.

Yeah, considering he is only good because he plays with either Crosby or Malkin.

My two cents is Bennett is a younger guy so adapting to either wing is easier for him. Iginla had probably developed moves from the RW position so he felt uncomfortable not playing there. In all seriousness this argument is so last year. This horse has been beaten to freaking death.

Please enough about Duper. Enough. Guy has wheels and developed hands. OK? And Kunitz gives you a physical presence every night and has also evolved his scoring game. You gotta love that. Lastly, which young defensive prospect has stood out? Bortuzzo, no if's and's or buts about it, case closed. Dude would crosscheck his grandmother if she were in the crease and skate away with her moaning and rolling on the ice. Dude is mean. I like that in a defenseman.

Good read on the Crosby, Dupuis & Kunitz dynamic off the ice.

http://www.post-gazette.c...ngers-a-good-mesh-704893/

I still think that it's funny that a number one overall draft pick is centering the best line in hockey with two undrafted players. If you are a guy like Adam Payerl or Jean-Sebastien Dea who were passed over in the draft, you gotta look at these two and be motivated.
