I haven't heard much about Jones during this preseason. How has he done? I know the Jets are in major man-love with Trouba and Lindholm has been performing well. It's quite nice to see all of this years draft picks being returned to the minors for another season at least. Time's are progressing!
Also, nice to see a leaf's fan that isn't here trolling. - ChetManly
I don't troll, it gets me nowhere. I'm heavily involved in fantasy hockey so I watch the game and its players like a stock analyst would watch stocks. Likewise, if I troll your blogs or other teams blogs, I'd be burning bridges, and rob myself of valuable fan information.
Moreover, while I'm a Leaf fan, I also like the Oilers and Predators in the west.
Jones is doing fine in Nashville. I liken him to Hedman in that he has all the attributes and then some from a big man, and he's already NHL ready, but there will be some major growing pains before he realizes his full potential. He's not as good a skater as Hedman, but more physical, and more physically filled out if that makes sense. |

He'll be up next year, his game is further along then almost all the d-men taken in the last two drafts. The exceptions might be Trouba, Jones and Lindholm. - mykokes
Well put.
Referring to those scouting reports i mentioned earlier; his 'game' wreaked of slow development and a big learning curve. But He's much furthur along than most of us expected i think. Stoked.
And Dont know much about lindholm, but i fully agree on trouba. He's a fantastic young player. |

Eager - Acton - Hamilton
Bromw - MacIntyre
J. Schultz - A Ference
J. Petry - L. Smid
N. Schultz - P. Larsen
A. Belov

Trouba looks just like Bogosian did prior to breaking his leg. |

It's going to be a fun battle to watch Larsen and Belov gof or the 6th spot. I wouldn't be surprised if we see it wind up with them as 5/6 and Nultz as 7th or traded eventually.
Jultz is going to have a good year with Ference.

I'm going to snag Myers in my office fantasy league. I'm hoping he has a bounce back year now that he has Tallinder beside him again. Thoughts?

I have been pleasantly suprised by Smytty, Hall (on the dot), Arcabello, Hamilton, and Larsen and have not been really disappointed by any of the players that made the team. Eakins may truly prove to be the X Factor here more so than any individual players performance. |

I don't know if Myers will ever be the 48 point d-man he was in his Calder year, but I certainly don't think he's as bad as he was the last two seasons. Tallinder's also 34/35 now so I'm not sure he'll have the same impact on Myers play. All of that said, Myers is what 23 yo? I think he's worth a gamble...worst case scenerio he gets 30 plus points. |

He is ranked really low, so he is a late-round pick for me. When the draft gets to that point, its pertty much slim pickings anyways, especially since we have 16 people in it! |

So Jones is gone to OKC if he clears.
With Nuge and Gagner on IR, have to think Arcobello makes the team.
Do you move Yakupov to LW?
Yakupov Hall Eberle
Perron Arcobello Hemsky
Smyth Gordon Joensuu
Macintryre Acton Brown
Hamilton or Eager battle it out for 13th forward |

I know Eakins will probably be rolling with three scoring lines, but I just don't see how Smyth will survive on L1 all season. I suspect he will be moved down to L3 eventually. I believe he is only there to help Hall acclimate into the center position. I think Hemsky and Yakupov should be flipped. Hemsky is still doing way too much puck handling and passing rather than shooting when he has an open lane. It's driving me nuts!
edit: sorry, this is my prediction for the line-up once we hit November. |

Originally with Acton I thought he might stay around for awhile because daddy is taking care of thing, but he has absolutely earned that 4th line spot. Jones needs to get his confidence/balls back and he will still be serviceable.

agree, Smyth there is no way he is L1 all year. He will likely spend 5-10 in the pressbox as it is, and then most of the season on L3/L4.

No, Hall will center Smyth and Hemsky to start the season. Yak is much more effective on his off wing. Once RNH/Gags are back, Arcobello goes back to the Barons, Smyth and Hemmer shuffle down, Hall back to LW.

Happy to see Nurse is playing one more year in junior. He could make it, but it's a much better decision to keep him in junior, let him lead and dominate, hopefully he makes Team Canada, and fill him full of red meat and get him 15-20 lbs heavier for the start of next year. |
