LOL what did Iggysbf get banned for again? I think i remember seeing that but can't remember. I loved your commenting to HallFan. I can't read his messages and then come to a conclusion that any of it is valid. It'd be nice if he started treating his comments like twitter. He has 140 characters max.

I guess we will see what happens... if we win its all good... but once the losing tides set in he will have his hands forced a bit... its just weird having smyth on the top line... it just doesnt sit well with me...

I'm hoping it is only temporary while Hall gets accustom to playing at center. I hink Eakins is doing the whole "three scoring lines", but Smyth should be limited in his ice time. No special teams like was stated earlier.

I'd rather see Smyth with Gordon and Joensuu and just watch them cycle the puck down low and wear out the other team.

I like it if it works. I can't help but think the Perron and Eberle would benefit from a play maker like RNH if he is on the top of his game. I do like Gordon as the 4th line center. If a team like this can get scoring from the Smyth line, the would have a real shot at the playoffs. Lets just hope Hemsky plays like he can and it won't matter what Smyth does. Hemsky at the top of his game playing with Hall would be like the Sedins, it doesn't matter who is on the other wing.

Fine swap it with whoever I had on line 2. Wasn't really posting 1-2-3 line, just 3 lines that will be used in similar amounts.

Today's lines

Smyth - Hall - Hemsky
Joensuu - Arcobello - Eberle
Perron - Gordon - Yakupov
MacIntyre - Acton - Brown

Eager - RNH - Hamilton

Ference - J. Schultz
Smid - Petry
Belov - Larsen

Hemsky has been on a steady decline for a while. We won't see him the way he used to be the big points getter again. Sure he can dangle the puck, but he never takes the shot when he should and always tends to turn the puck over by overpassing. Hall and Hemsky are nothing like what the Sedins used to be.

But I believe he is there, along with Smyth, as veteren help for Hall while he makes the adjustment to center.

Hall and Yakupov would be a better mix, but Yakupov with someone else makes a third line better.

I like Yak with RNH simply because Eberle doesn't do one-timers as good as Yak. Eberle also likes to carry the puck and make a move.

RNH is one of the better passers in the game. Yak one of the better one-timers. They can make some quick plays IMO.

Or Turin. I do trust in Yzerman. There are a lot of Chiefs on the proposed list but these cheifs are role players too. For example Bergeron and Toews are two of the best (TSN actually called them the best) PK guys in the league. They are amazing at faceoffs and they can eat up a lot of ice time on a two minute penalty. Nash, Perry, Thorton and Getzlaf all offer a big physical game to the offense that can be used to wear a team down in the first period. They are also good at crashing the net. Then you have Crosby, Stamkos, Toews and Tavares who simply score. That is what they do.

Add that together with the combination of Offensive and two way dmen we have (Weber, Doughty, Keith, Subban, Pietrangelo, Letang) then some extra.

With this D, we could put Diepietro in net and be fine.

Personally though, I would like to see Thorton taken out. He seems to disappear under pressure. Duchene IMO was the best player at the world's last year. I would give him some serious consideration.

Sorry that is for my hockey pool. I didn't think anyone would read it. Not to mention post it in the forums. No one read any of my relevant blogs, I thought I could get away with posting a non relevant one about our keeper pool.

No good point. Eberle is more likely to make something out of nothing.

Thorton and Nash are meh. Same with Marleau. DiPietro is American, nor would anyone even entertain that idea.
