Ok so I have been coming to hb for a while and have never actually felt
The need to join untill I came across garths last two blogs
So I have to ask everyone is this guy for real?? Really?
Cause the way I'm reading these blogs it feels like a joke. I'm not posting to debate
The merits of what happened between the leafs and sabres there
Were mistakes made on both sides I have no doubt, but this crap
Is garbage there is no professional opinion here, no mindblowing
Insight as to why the situation happened it just looks like an ashamed
Pissed off sabres fan spewing verbal diarrhea when his team gets
Criticised and the fact that you are comparing two willing comabtants
In tropp and devane to what scott was trying to do to kessel is
Pathetic
Again I am not defending what happened but, like garth, I also wanted
To post my own nonsensical self absord opinion
Thx - 1theNex

I don't know about the best post ever, I will say it was a very good one.
But since it wasn't answered the first time, I will apparently have to ask again.

GARTH'S CORNER: NHL Beware - garth
So while we're talking about the code, check out the centre of the picture here (about 0:04) to see Drew Bagnall swinging FROM BEHIND at Carter Ashton. We could have had a Steve Moore situation on our hands here, and yet this receives no comment from you.
Shame on you.

Sometimes a blogger is a prefect representative of a fan base. This is one of those times. For a few days in pre-season, people are paying attention to Garth and the Sabres. The guy will not let go no matter how far he has to go to draw attention to himself.
The errors in his "reporting" are enough to make Ek look like a combo of Woodword and Bernstein. He tries to make Rolston out to be Chuck Norris and Corey Tropp out to be the victim of some random attack. The truth is that Tropp was hurt when his head hit the ice as he and Devance fell in a fight he initiated. Devance was throwing punches as they started to fall. There was no "piledriver into the ice" as Sabre fans want to believe.
Turns out old Corey has his own history - suspended out of the MSU program for slashing an unconscious Steve Kampfer who had just been cross checked into the boards.

the NHL is turning into a joke, a modern day WWF, as long as morons like Bettman and Shanahan are making decisions, the NHL will always be a 3rd rate league. Its a shame cause its the greatest game on Earth but quickly becoming on par with the WNBA |

Every leagues player safety/suspension committee is a joke. It is not just the NHL. The NFL, NBA and MLB all give preferential treatment to popular players. Shanahan and Bettman aren't the reason the league isn't as popular as the others. |

I love how he calls Devane an AHL orangutan as though Tropp is a full time NHLer, then in the next breath says Tropp played all but 2 AHL games last season. All this while ignoring the fact that Devane is 22 and was drafted in 09. He should bring up Tropps stick swinging incident on a player lying prone on the ice in college hockey when referring to orangutans.

Can Garth or someone from Hockeybuzz kindly clarify why Kessel would have to wear a kevlar vest to play BUF and PHI this season? To me it sounds like there is an implication of gun violence presented, which I'm sure neither the blogger nor the website would want to imply or attach their name to considering recent events in the USA.
I'm unaware of any reason why a hockey player would require such equipment. Kevlar socks to protect from cuts, sure. Kevlar in composite sticks too...but a vest? I'm curious what the implication is.
At the end of the day folks this was a hockey brawl - let's put a little perspective on this situation in the grand scheme of life.
EDIT: Looks like someone with a brain took that down, but I have the screen grab... |

Oh...I guess shoulder pads and the rest of a players equipment have degraded since my day. Pretty irresponsible by all parties associated in the name of page views. |
