I got a paper cut in economics today. - Nucker101
That class was a good laugh. One of those subjects that passes off their lessons as a factual science but in truth is an entire subject that is made up as the world goes on. |

Interesting topic on Bro Jake show this morning. Bill Waters asked how many teams would trade their top 3 for Vancouvers top 3 of Sedins and Kesler. He said I don't think there would be any takers. |

Interesting topic, silly comment. He don't think Phoenix would make that switch? How about Winnipeg or Calgary?
The better question would be: how many contending teams would make that switch. There might not be any takers amongst that group, I agree. |

Bro Jake... I'm sorry but I just can't get past that hilariously awful nickname.
And I bet Calgary, Columbus, Winnipeg, Nashville, New Jersey, Phoenix, Winnipeg would all at least have something to think about depending on cap situation what 3 you would consider to be their "top 3". I'm assuming this excludes goalies? Otherwise it's kind of pointless to compare a star goalie to a star forward IMO.
And besides, this isn't the NBA, it takes more than 3 stars to win a cup.
Edit: Forgot Buffalo and Dallas. Maybe Toronto? That team would be pretty good if you swap Kessel, and any 2 others for the Sedins and Kesler. Two good centers would make them look great on paper. |

Teams I think would make that trade:
Buffalo
Calgary
Carolina
Columbus
Dallas
Florida
Minnesota
Montreal
Nashville
New Jersey
NYI
NYR
Phoenix
Toronto
Winipeg.
Edit: Once again goes to show the lack of respect the Canucks get. The twins are just a couple of seasons removed from a Hart Trophy and back to back Art Ross's and Kesler a 40 goal Selke. |

It's a dude named Bro Jake and Bill Watters(Leafs fans on this site constantly make fun of his "analysis").

There area few different types if troll. There's the hit and run insult the blogger/fan base type who isn't prepared to defend their position because they are only interested in insulting someone, and they don't really know anything beyond their rage. There is the highly opinionated "I'm always right" troll who will argue all day about a topic even when they know they are wrong (If I were a troll this would be me). And then there is the "Innocent Troll", they guys who start a post with "not trolling here but..." The guys who use backhanded insults or humble boasts. I would put you in this category, you sound like you want to talk hockey, but it often comes off as trollish. If I'm off base then I apologize, but that is how it seems. - 1970vintage

It seems silly to you because you are a Canuck fan.
Phx fans may want Doan Smith and Yandle more than the Twins and Kes
Flames fans may not want to lose Baertschi Glencross and their young goalie for and aging set of twins .They may want to stay the course of rebuild
Winnipeg I highly doubt the the would give Kane Bogasian Scheifele Wheeler. |

You are dreaming if you think that Nashville would give up Rinne, Weber and Seth Jones for Sedins and Kesler. |

I could see PHX fans saying no if they don't want to lose OEL, maybe but still ask that question to 100 non-Coyote and Canuck fans, and I'll say 80% choose the Sedins and Kesler. You make an okay poit about Calgary, but they'd still have Monahan, Poierier(sp?), Brodie, and the other young players they've been drafting and acquiring.
I don't think Scheifele counts for Winnipeg as a top 3 player until he produces in the NHL so it would be the other 3 for the Sedins and Kesler and they would probably do that.
Even if rebuilding teams might not want ageing players, just from a pure value prospective they could flip them for better young assets than they original gave up in this hypothetical 3 for 3 blockbuster swap. Only counter argument to that is if the NTC's stick and the Sedins having to be packaged which limits possibilities. |

I think you mean Seth Jones, not Lundqvist right? Again, I said assuming goalies not included otherwise this makes zero sense, because you're comparing goaies to skaters and then you can't even compare teams with a goalie in their "top 3" with teams that don't have a goalie in their "top 3". |

You think you could pull Parise Suter and Granlund for the twins and Kesler - VANTEL
Granlund? I think you mean Mikko Koivu or Brodin, and I agree that Minny probably doesn't do that since they would be screwed defensively. |

I changed it right before I read this . Yes.
The question Waters asked is how many teams would change their top 3 PLAYERS, not forwards , For Vancouvers top three players. He responded and said I don't think there would be any takers. |

Granlund to me is more of the future of the wild that Koivu. If I was trading with them I would target Ganlund. |

I get that man, but it's a stupid scenario because you're not asking which 3 players are better or more valuable...you asking if it makes sense for the other teams rosters AND is it better value? So it's really not a straightforward who's core is better question. If he asked:
If you were starting a brand new NHL franchise, which team's top 3(any players/prospects you want) would you not take over Henrik, Daniel and Kesler?
Much better question. Sorry Bro Jake. |

I'd take Brodin over both. You didn't include OEL for Phoenix either...you Swedish hater. |

Most fans outside the Vancouver market realize the Sedins /Keslers talent but have this image of the Sedins as softer one dimensional players. Kesler they like a lot but question his ability to stay healthy.
So the fact that we see them one way does not mean other fans outside Vancouver view them the same way. |

I get that, trust me. Half of my buddies aren't even Canucks fans(Pens, Hawks, Wings, Oilers, Avs, Leafs etc.). However I'd still easily be willing to bet if we made a poll on this that the Canucks 3 would win.
I'll ask the more hardcore non-Canuck hockey fans that I know personally and see who they'd rather take. |

Make the poll to fans other than Vancouver fans , would they give up their 3 best players for our 3 best.
Get them to list thier teams. It is not my topic I am just the messenger that thought it was an interesting topic, so no need for me to bet. |

Yeah, I'm going to do that. A couple of them(the Oilers, Hawks and Pens ones) are big time Canuck haters so I'll ask them to actually be reasonable. |
