Weber single-handedly allowed the three first goals.....he can't play D, pure and simple. Tanev on the other hand was making some great first passes and was responsible for the only real scoring opportunity.

Tanev and Corrado in, Weber and AHLberts waived.

In terms of the vets, It's clear they could care less about the preseason. Kesler was not playing physical and the Twins were only attempting flashy plays, like Henriks between the leg shot attempt.

It seems to me over the last few years that we would dominate the preseason then blow the first few weeks of the season, perhaps we will see the opposite this year

Bash the guy all you want but between both our teams he's been the best d man in the preseason .... That can't bode well for the northwest division champs

Weber is purely an offensive defenseman. He's going to need someone who is reliable defensively next to him. Weber's got a great first pass and can shoot the puck. Shame to lose that. It's exactly what this team needs.

Agree, If Weber is in the lineup Alberts won't be. Its not like these guys were auditioning to play together.

or some combination of the such. Throw in Corrado to the mix and Weber is #7, Alberts is #8.

For me, you just described Aaron Rome perfectly. And Rome was way better than Alberts.

Rome is almost three times as expensive. For $600k you get what you pay for. If Alberts had been playing with Garrison or Hamhuis I bet he would have been invisible.

I got faith in Torts, one way or another i believe this will be a winning team be it a defensive minded system or not. It remains to be seen in which direction he will guide the team.

From what i hear the focus has been on conditioning up to this point while the systems aspect of the training will be in the week before the season opens. However i do enjoy seeing 2 to 3 guys forchecking in the offensive zone.
