It wouldn't be bad. I'm really curious to see how he does this year. If he has anything left I would like to see him with Danault

If you can change ur mind about Sharp, maybe he can change his mind about Bolland or how I changed my mind about trading Kane

Dennis was a very underrated player. Took him of a couple of years to get over the blue line without falling. on that note.
I miss Chico Maki.

I do recall him once saying that he was the third best hockey player in the family while growing up. His brother and sister were better.

Once made my Dad take me to get his autograph at an Ace Hardware back in the day. He couldn't have been nicer. Cracked jokes with everyone getting autographs. The best one was somebody asked him where he lives. Straight-faced replied. 1800 W. Madison.

>Can't agree with your assessment regarding Morin
>Morin has a very high hockey IQ in the offensive zone and also good enough awareness to keep offensive plays progressing by passing
>Have yet to see Ben Smith do anything high-end with the puck: hasn't been able to receive a pass cleanly, make a great pass, and his shot is below average
>I'll give Smith his due for competitiveness, but for his small size, he's hardly a speedster on his skates -- I'll give Smith credit for "finding" a way to score goals -- but I doubt he will produce many #1 assists at the NHL level

- SnapitUpstairs

Agree on Morin. He has the tools and a cannon of a shot. His on ice IQ more then makes up for being a tad slow on his skates.

I'm hoping Morin makes the 3rd line, but I think he's behind Smith and Hayes.

Chico Maki was horse crap ...the most over rated Hawk " legend"...Guys like Chet koppick and Dan McNeil and possibly you were five or seven when he played and don't remember how oh so ordinary he was...his only talent was getting the girls the other guys weren't willing to do.
honestly Dave Bolland is a better hockey player.

And granted Dennis COULD SHOOT THE puck and when motivated actually play a good all around game, but he was most a floater, with his chief contribution as a funny event host speaker.

You are in over your head if want to debate this one with me.

He is only six year older than I am, so my memories are of the real results or lack thereof, not the rah rah rah stuff.

I miss when a face off was a necessary win, how #5 Jack Evans would come in and basically power his way through to clear the puck for the hawks.
(the rule eliminating this kind of body contact in the face off was instituted)

Still was so strange to the hawks have a defenseman come in for the "draw."

He actually was not on the cup winning team.

And while I am trying to wrest wary the title of Mr. Crabbypant for E K, who cares which of the four or five hawks THINK is better to stay and why...not our decision....the brain trust will tell us....so I don't care what you all think....it has been going on too long, with all of us repeating repeating and repeating....

Hell, you probably thought it was a good trade with Boston.
