Shannahan is a joke for sure. The other aspect of this that makes no sense whatsoever is how Clarkson is allowed to play the next 3 preseason games, but his suspension doesn't take effect until the reg season starts lol......such a broken system

I'm not arguing the suspension, just the length of the suspension. Yes it's automatic, but when you look at the length of other suspensions for actions that are far more harmful to other players being shorter it just seems ridiculous. Basically the league is saying it is far worse for a player to hop over the bench and defend his teammate than it is to take a run at a guy's head and potentially injure him for the rest of his career.

I think people realize it's automatic dumb (frank)..... What pisses them off is the lack of debate and giving a guy 10 games when no injury or anything of consequence happened to warrant 10 games.
The day before you hand out a 5 regular season game suspension to a guy who uses his stick to break a guy's jaw and cause him to miss much more than 5 games.

Yes, it was very fair. There is no grey area here because its pretty much written leaving the bench in a brawl is 10 games. Clarkson is a fool to even appeal. Kessell should get multiple games for his repeated slashes as well.
