MONTREAL -- In the unlikely event that the Montreal Alouettes play host to a playoff game, it will not be held at Olympic Stadium, the CFL club announced Tuesday. Alouettes chief operating officer Mark Weightman said the team opted for its outdoor field because of concerns a snowfall could postpone the match in the Big O. Olympic Stadium cannot be used if it snows due to an unstable roof.

quite possibly the only sports team in history that has to plan to move a game from a dome to an outdoor field for weather-related concerns.

They really shouldn't worry about a playoff game this season, though.

In the unlikely event

Don't think they are that optimistic about it

Wait..so what do they do all winter? Shovel it off every day, or just let it collapse?

Apparently, because Clarkson didn't throw a punch, he shouldn't be suspended. That little inconvenient rule about leaving the bench to join a brouhahah is to be disregarded.

isn't there also a fine to the coach and/or organization when that happens?

No idea. But the Leaf fans in Augello's thread are (frank)ing hilarious. Downplay and deflect is the rule of the day:

1. Kessel's stickwork was justified, because John Scott is 6000 lbs heavier and 4 miles taller than Kessel.
2. Kessel shouldn't be fighting. John Scott is a loser. But oh hey! Look at Uniball Phil lay the knuckles on that smaller guy! KESSEL! KESSEL! KESSEL!
2. Clarkson didn't throw a punch (even though he left the bench to join, dropped his gloves, and required a linesman to intervene to prevent any punches from being thrown), and thus shouldn't be suspended.
3. Clarkson was just trying to break it up, thus should get some sort of clemency.
4. The puck was never dropped, so Clarkson came on the ice as a last minute line change, not to join the fight.

It's actually all incredibly amusing. I wish I had that kind of creativity.

Lost in all of this, Devane (6'5) dropping the gloves against Tropp (6'0) who just scored for the Sabres.

Hence why Scott didn't care to go at it with Kessel. Or whoever was on the ice at that moment.

wow, sounds like leafs can do no wrong

What happens if he does throw a punch but it doesn't land? half of the normal suspension?

Also applies to the fact Kessel is half Scott's size.

My guess: He gets suspended for the rest of preseason and maximum 1 game.
