Meh....I think he took ownership of it. I would likely have done the same...only higher.

did yes....intended to do...no.

Can Garth or someone from Hockeybuzz kindly clarify why Kessel would have to wear a kevlar vest to play BUF and PHI this season? To me it sounds like there is an implication of gun violence presented, which I'm sure neither the blogger nor the website would want to imply or attach their name to considering recent events in the USA.

I'm unaware of any reason why a hockey player would require such equipment. Kevlar socks to protect from cuts, sure. Kevlar in composite sticks too...but a vest? I'm curious what the implication is.

At the end of the day folks this was a hockey brawl - let's put a little perspective on this situation in the grand scheme of life.

EDIT: Looks like someone with a brain took that down, but I have the screen grab...

Why did you leave out this part?

A day after the NHL's announcement that he was suspended for the remainder of the pre-season, Toronto Maple Leaf forward Phil Kessel finally spoke about his slashing incident with John Scott, saying that - in retrospect - his second slash on the Buffalo Sabres forward was, "uncalled for."

This is not like you.

- stormeyAlterEgo

It makes him look worse no?

Like the first slash was ok,............in his mind.

Anywho, that is all.

I think he took ownership of it. Said in retrospect the second slash was wrong.

Gave the explanation that he was basically freaking out because that gorilla said he was going to kill him.

Not sure what else he should have said.

I don't think at this point in his career much people care about Iginla.

That said, nobody knows who Beau Bennett is...

Scott on Kessel suspension.

I'm fine with it. I would have done the same thing if I was in his position. He was just trying to defend himself. I didn't think anyone should have gotten a suspension.

I think there's tremendous irony here that John Scott is the only one of the "main" guys involved who didn't get any kind of punishment whatsoever. Even Rolston got fined, FFS.

Can't believe Iginla would have the audacity to request to play RW.
