I was pleasantly surprised. Not saying it was a work of art, but I thought it was an ok movie. Better than I expected from a $400m mess, at least. |

That's a shame because I really liked the book. I couldn't see how they were going to pull it off as a movie since there's no central character. So there you go, they didn't. |

So it almost sounds like the fight for the 3rd winger is Raffle, then Vandevelde, then Laughton?
Is that the consensus? - FlyersGrace
Honest question, knowing that Gagne's ship has sailed: Is anyone of these guys better fitted for the 3d line than Gagne? |

I just didn't like the quick editing in many of the shots ... there were times when it was impossible to understand what was going on.
it did have a few good scenes, though. |

Better suited? Eh....that can be debated. I think all of them fit in a 3rd line role for this team, and it's hard to say who's better suited since 2 of these guys have been relevant for the last 3 weeks...
That being said- one thing I think we can all agree on is that Raffl is the much better bargain. And in the cap era (especially here in Philly) that's what it's all about in a situation like this. |

For the style this teams plays we do need a 100% shut down line. To me that's Laughton Coots Read. For the purposes a shut down line I'll take Laughton over Gagne.
I'm quite confused why they're so high on Raffl. |

Do any of them have the injury history/miles that Gagne has? |

No, none are crippled AARP members like grandpa Gagne. |

The Flyers have scouted Raffl, singed him. Watched him play in multiple pre season games, and in training camp. Not sure any fan at this point can make an accurate assessment of Raffl. Not enough of a sample. I've seen him play one pre season game, and saw some things that I liked. But it's a very small sample, so the jury is still out. But I'm not going to question the player, until he's given a chance to see what he can bring. He's still adjusting to the NA game. |

I don't think we've seen enough of Raffl to know if he can do the job or not. |

Do you think the Cleary move had more to do with the team not completely trusting Laughton or Raffl or just a typical Flyers opportunity to sign a good two way forward? |

So the sticks, skates, and gloves still say CCM but the jerseys have to say Reebok? Just hate seeing that name on jerseys, and I don't know why. |

yes. i would assume because reebok is a much larger brand and is the parent - for uniforms/apparel i can see why they'd do that. Reebok still also manufactures equipment that is branded Reebok. |

Someone mentioned earlier that Laughton was not a lock to make this team and I have to agree.
He hasn't shown me (like who really cares?) to warrant a third line spot for the year. Another 9 game tryout? OK. But to date he has yet to make an impression.
And again, if he makes the team as a fourth line 5 minute per night player, I'd rather see him back in the "O". |

Hmmm...I only bought 2 CCM products ever. I actually bought a pair of Vectors, the first skate I can remember which had T-Blades. I could really feel them digging into the ice. Wasn't a very cool feeling. Also had a pair of gloves and, eh, they're a pair of gloves. I was usually more of a Bauer man, but moved onto Easton sticks. But for skates, it's all Bauer for me. |

Even if he makes it as a 4th liner, he'll play more than 5 minutes a night. More like 10-12. |

I played roller starting when I was 10. We had the top JO team in the 15-16 division and the top 2 men's teams in the nation at my rink. I played for the NJ Riot as part of MLRH (only NHL rules roller hockey in the USA) for 2 years in college. About 7-8 years ago, maybe even more, I decided to FINALLY play ice hockey. Since I knew nothing about sharpening blades (I'd done public skating a few times with rink skates just to get the feel of skating), I figured T-Blades were a good idea. They were lighter for sure, but they always felt a little choppy. Seemed like the dug in more than other skates. |
