He looked like he hurt his back, but that could be anything from a bruise to spinal cord injury.
- bodiva88

He did hit his back when he got tripped on the breakaway...was in obvious discomfort on bench, but I didn't think it was anything serious....then the beat guys started asking questions while Jake was in the trainer's room and suddenly he's Darryl Stingley

based on comments I'm glad I missed most of the game. I'll be watching the next 2 preseason games closely.

The flyers just seem so archaic in their organization. The whole process. It's all so redundant.

can you elaborate?

Other teams email reporters the up to date medical records of injured players right after the games. The Flyers don't even have computers.

pretty much sums it up.. I was at the game and I cant tell you how frustrating it was to see Matt Read miss the net about 6 times, Devils blocking a ridiculous amount of shots (as usual), and clogging the middle of the ice. It was a very slow game thats for sure. I think the Flyers outshot the Devils but it was only a 24-19 total (correct me if im wrong). But Meszaros looked very bad I might add. Not helping his trade value any.

Lots of blocked shots,
Looked like the Rangers a bit.
Also a lot of just legal clutching and grabbing.
Pretty good game for Schneider in net.
Typical Flyers Devils really.

Tonight reminded me a lot of the last playoff series against the Devils. The Flyers just never seemed to get on track, and any d-zone mistake they made ended up in their net. Trying to convince myself it was just a pre-season game and not part of a trend. Which of course is true, but I was hoping to come away from tonight's game feeling more positive. Unfortunately I think that may take more alcohol than I'm willing to drink during the week.

Got to love the NHL. They fined Sabres coach Ron Rolston for putting John Scott on the ice.

Now player substitutions that have been legal for the past 100+ years are subject to fines retroactively.

Want to eliminate the goons like Scott? Make any fights within 30 seconds of a faceoff subject to an automatic game misconduct and 2 game suspension.

So you just constantly run Crosby for the first 29 seconds of a shift?
