dude you need help. you base way too much of your self-worth on how not tough the Habs are. time to get over it. it's just hockey.

man... you went deep on that..... I need good half day just to figure out what you meant ..... but only after the laughter stops.

exactly. his suspension is only effective in the regular season. will be the same deal with Clarkson. he won't get special treatment because it's Toronto.
- scotch_tape

We're talking about the NHL here... I wouldn't be so quick to jump to that conclusion.

I get that.

My point is, why would Clarkson get treated differently?

- Pecafan Fan

Its just so weird. You are allowing a player to play the remaining pre-season.

I think its all up to this guy.

I keep reading the Leafs will win without Clarkson and that he won't be missed.

Worst signing EVER......apparently.

To say the Leafs will not miss Clarkson is very naive IMHO.

Let me illustrate it for you:

Orr going after Gionta is HILARIOUS!

Scott going after Kessel is DISGUSTING!

cannot for the life of me figure out how this happened in a preseason game.
- scotch_tape

It is ridiculous.

Tropp having just scored, decided he would make a really big impression by fighting Devane. (maybe the stupidest decision of the whole mess).

The rest is all about macho crap, roster spots, winning over new teammates and protecting your job as an "enforcer".

The new CBA allows for an independent appeal, it is no longer in the hands of Bettman, all suspensions can be appealed. I believe Bissonnette has filed an appeal, don't know if he went through with it yet but one of the insiders tweeted it.
- LeafMan

thing is, this has now happened twice in the preseason. the NHL does not want this happening. i don't see them letting either guy off the hook.

I don't think I have ever seen a picture of him smiling like that. Must have been the day after he scolded Ballsilie.

The Clarkson one is cut and dry. It's in the rules...no real negotiation there.

It will be interesting to see if Kessel only get preseason games.

Not up to the league anymore, Bettman has no say in upholding suspensions.

because it's all about punishment. what punishes the player/team more? suspended in the preseason when you're only playing 1 of 2 games that mean nothing and not losing salary, or missing regular games and salary?

Goon wars ,meh the leafs have to know that teams will be trying to stir crap up against them .Its up to them to pick their spots better , if they dont that pk unit will be tested early and often
- top shelf 15

Pick their spots better? They were jumped.... And you do realize the leafs ends up on the pp out of that right? And their pk was 2nd best least year.

When did Orr, at a face off, go after Gionta because some other Leaf lost a fight that the Leaf started?

Did it ever happen?

If Orr ever went at Gionta, did it maybe happen when Gionta skated through the crease and concussed our starting goalie, pretty much costing him approximately a whole season to recover?

the interesting thing about Clarkson's defense, he never threw a punch... (not that i saw?)

i agree he is getting the 10, but if he appeals, it'll be interesting how they view his defense..

Good signing if he plays a good solid game while sticking up for his teamates,Bad one if he just cause,s more trouble than he is worth .

Cox is an idiot. He's half right though - the scenario was a definetly a tap on the should scenario and he should be held accountable somewhat for all the poop that went down.

I believe the wording is something like "joining an altercation" Which he did.
