I like Leo, cause he can actually act. He's putting out a Twilight Zone movie next year... Should be awesome.
- laughs2907

Twilight zone is awesome. I use to watch the really old ones with my dad when I was just a wee feller.

- laughs2907

You are skilled as (frank). I usually just do it at a table with some papers and a bud buster.
- HouseArrest187

I used to do that while I drove. Being on the list now, I can't really do that until afterwards.

If we had gretz, messier, coffey etc, i think ud have the confidence u could come back from anything.

But with the sustained losing and age of the kids, id assume theyre fragile and might be effed.

However, i do believe eakins will keep them focused and ready regardless of the situation...

This is what sucks. The unconscious can be a leviathan.

I actually get to the point where I wonder if we'll ever see this ship completely rebuilt, so to speak. Then I figure, nope, they'll bear down, learn from it, rally and be all the better for it.

Great post and totally with ya.

I understand being cautious on knee jerk moves, but these kids need to learn to win sooner rather later.

Sustained losing and fragile confidence can be an extremely dangerous thing

Ah I see. I thought you ment the kinda list that laughs is on... you know, the one where you can't be around schools or go to chucky cheese.

All kidding aside tho... Best of luck with that. May I ask why?

Disagree with you Ryan G on the need for an enforcer.

You yourself said we would now have a couple guys who do not belong in the NHL in the roster, so what difference does it make if that guy who doesn;t belong is an enforcer rather than another small player?

In the end two guys are playing that should not be. I would rather have the bruiser who can at least stand up for his team mates instead of the runt who can't score at this level.

- yaktalksback

We have a couple guys who don't belong in the NHL because of two reasons, injuries and a lack of forward depth. We might have two guys playing who shouldn't be, but when everyone's healthy and your GM is doing his job effectively that shouldn't be the case.

I don't see enforcers on the Blackhawks, Red Wings or Bruins, and they tend to do just fine. I love fights as much as anyone, but I think the time for policemen is long gone. Organizational toughness? Yes. Enforcers? No.

I got the DVD set... There's around 200 episodes for about $120 on Amazon. They're so awesome... You could basically make a feature film based on any of those episodes.

Organizational toughness is a catch phrase without substance here in EDM.

You can have organizational toughness when you have big aggressive players who can play a top 9 role.

You can make a pretty big list on every team (including DET) of players who are big and physical.

The Oilers are still seeking a single player who fits that description and seem incapable of obtaining one.

So if you cannot get one then the only option is to get our Alberts or Weise instead of playing some smurf who cannot contribute pysically and who isn't good enough to contribute offensively or defensibly in a meaningful way.

At least the Alberts or Weise type can play physical or cancel the presence of another teams thug as they will focus on each other rather than their thu running our stars.

Even without the injuries we need to do something about the lack of pushback.

Here is an assignment for all reading. Next game watch and see each scrum after a whistle. Notice how only guys like Perron etc(Player developed elsewhere) even shove back while getting abused? These guys who have been here are scared to do anything.

They don;t even hit hard because they are afraid of the consequences. Also watch them hold back on their hits when they do have someone. I see this every game while they try and knock our guys out of their skates when they hit them.

This team needs to feel someone has their back.

I've had a bad heart since I was 15, now 32. Was on meds for years keeping it under control. This past winter, the meds didn't work anymore and I had to have an LVAD put in. Its a pump that works my heart, basically a portable life support system. Now I wait for the call to go for surgery.

It's not all lost, he'll be back. Plus, RNH will be back in November probably. The Oilers might be behind and looking up by then, but in all honesty, they probably were anyways?
