Same goes for mcguire imo. Look it up. His head coaching stint in hartford was a nightmare by all accounts. Cocky, self serving, arrogant, not respected by his players nor his peers.
Forced out in 6 months and eventually investigated for some wrongdoing that i dont know much about.

While you are correct that Pierre has been in hockey for decades, he only coached at an NHL level for parts of 5 seasons; head coach for a partial season and assistant the rest of the time. There is a reason he is on TV instead of still coaching and that's because he thinks he knows a lot about the game. At this point he has better credentials as a reporter than any type of hockey management.

It's not like Gagner and RNH are gone for the season. They'll come back flying, and the Oilers can weather it. It's not that bad. I think Oilers make the playoffs this year and I stand by that.

This is a marginal player we are talking about taking out one of the Oilers top 2 centers for a significant amount of time on a total BS play.

If we had gretz, messier, coffey etc, i think ud have the confidence u could come back from anything.

But with the sustained losing and age of the kids, id assume theyre fragile and might be effed.

Even though I joked earlier there is something to that. That whip around with his stick was careless at best. While he obviously wasnt aiming to break gagner's jaw, I have little doubt that he was aware of what he was doing with his stick.
