No, I certainly don't think Gaustad can skate, but he's tough, has PROVEN capable of playing 3rd line minutes before (albeit better on the 4th), and is great defensively. I can see why you'd suggest those other guys, but I think you were mistaken when you said "can skate". That or I grossly misinterpreted (which is entirely possible). Regardless, I'd prefer a more proven commodity coming in any trade. If we can get one of those "goons" through waivers, then I'm down as long as it doesn't pigeon-hole us later.

Also, A. Stewart is C. Stewart with half the skill and twice the laziness.

- MaximumBone

I wouldn't be against Gaustad or Zack Smith heck even Ryan White.... I just think the price would be steep. The guys I mentioned might be placed on waivers or had for a pick/prospect.

I was unsure of A. Stewart anyway.

If Gagner is out long term I would look to Zack Smith or Brian Boyle for short term solution. Both have proven they can play a bit and add some grit and size. I wonder if Jones and a pick could obtain one of them?

if we're still in the 80s I guess an .880 SV% is still good

You don't aim to injure in a (frank)ing pre season game. You'd think even someone as educated as yourself would understand that.

- TheNugeIsHuge

I don't think anyone was out to injure another player, that's my opinion. Kassian was definitely careless with his stick, thus I don't feel sorry for him if they suspend him. No need for that crap!

As for Weise, reactionary, again I don't see intend to injure. But, also careless.

Ryan -
its not black or white. To attempt to pigeonhole someones argument into "if we had laraque, gagner wouldnt have got hurt" is silly. No one would say that. It was a freak accident. Using an obvious exaggeration doesnt strengthen your argument (unless ur laughs of course..)

It was more the style of play the nuck plugs used taking a few runs and big hits on our smaller skill guys. That we really couldnt give back or pressure them into worrying about.

Team toughness is the key and we have far too little size and strength to push back at present.

How tall is that Reinhert kid who we might have a shot at winning the lotto for next year? That might shore up the problem of not enough centres on our team....

Arent broken jaws usually one of the quickest injuries to come back from? Like all he needs to do is stabilize it for a week and then come back and wear a full cage? I thought players were back from that in a couple of weeks typically?

- Oil-Pride

I believe Crosby was out a month last year when he broke his; guessing though.

You know what... I don't buy it. I think it was intentional.

The overhead view at around 32 seconds in... Not buying it at all. I'm not saying he meant to break his jaw, but he definitely meant to hit him with his stick.

What a (frank)tard

Kassian was an accident, careless or not, thats all it was.

Weise targeted his head clearly imo. Suspension

Wiese is a plug, I wish guys like him were out of the league. Gaunce could easily do what he does sans the fighting, although he's a terrible fighter.

Absolutely love Taylor Halls game! That kid is good, really enjoy watch him carry the play, he's so confident with the puck now.

Players are such pussies these days. Can't believe a player would miss a month for a broken jaw.

What ever happened to being taught that you keep two hands on your stick and your stick on the ice? This helps with a few things in anyone's game; being ready for a pass, less chance of getting your stick knocked out of your hands and you won't high stick any one when you hit or miss a hit. I'm pretty sure they taught that in tikes.

Resulting to insults in always the way to go.

Insulting someone who's been in hockey for decades is always very smart.

Wow.

That's (frank)in' bull. What a stupid careless (frank)er.

Kassian is a hack and we all know it, while Canucks fans are in denial. That douche deserves at least 5 games.
