Indy up 20-7 in San Fran right now. Kinda - Salvo
Poor Indy. From Manning to Luck. For a franchise that sucked badly for a lot of years they sure seem to have hit the QB jackpot.
Makes me wonder how San Diego feels after drafting Ryan Leaf. I'll answer that: stupid. Really, really stupid. |

I never like Kaepernick, I thought they made a mistake trading away Smith, thought he could a flash in the pan, and this season he is playing like one |

Except both players you mentioned as a younger player that can skate and hit can't actually skate (at the NHL level, that is) Nolan is a below average skater and Maroon lacks acceleration and a certain swiftness to his stride.
If you're looking on the FA list for guys that can bring size and physical play along with another stand out facet to their game, you're looking at a fairly short list. Guys like David Steckel (FO and PK), Smithson (FO and PK), and possibly even Latendresse (offense) assuming that he doesn't make the Coyotes and that he can stay in shape.
One guy that I have interest in is Daniel Bang (Preds). He's never been a high offensive producer, but he plays a power game and has been noted as a hard worker throughout his career. Standing at 6'3 210ish, he's a lot of what we need. I don't know if he's super physical or not, but that's not MY main concern (despite recent events). Maybe make a deal for his rights (he's RFA) and perhaps another prospect like Buddish, Beck, or even as far as Watson. Maybe even try to get Gaustad. - MaximumBone
and you think Gaustad is tough and can skate? Nolan is fast enough to play a regular shift and lay some pretty hard hits on good players. My point is Maroon, Mashinter, Nolan and others I have mentioned are pretty tough and have put up decent points at the AHL. Maybe the oil will take a flier on one or two. As for their skating, they won't be like Hall but they won't be like MacIntyre either. IMO they are tough guys that can play.
Anthony Stewart is on a PTO as well. He brings size and skill. Just not sure how he would use his size. |

Yak/Peron/Ebs/Hemsky as the wingers not too bad either. - Killbot460
Terminate Hemsky and put in Gagner instead. Yak/Perron/Ebs/Gagner
*Not that I'd want Hall playing center full-time... I think he's better suited for the wing* |

Doesn't help that Gagner is 5'8" and Kassian is 6'3"... smurf. - LeftCoaster
He's 5'11'' but if you think saying 5'8'' is more of a dig towards him and the Oilers, please continue to go with that height. |

No way most players in the league are what they're listed at.
I was standing next to Cleary last year... I'm 6'1'', and he's listed at 6'0''... The top of his head was pretty much in line with my eyes. Same deal with Ryder... I don't believe any of the heights listed. |

It's so easy to hate the canucks. Wish teams'd play more guys that can play and less goons. |

Suck it up Princess, you're obviously too young to remember the 80's...you know...when you won the Cups and employed Dave Jackson, Dave Semeko, Kevin McClelland, Marty McSorley etc etc? |

You know what... I don't buy it. I think it was intentional.
The overhead view at around 32 seconds in... Not buying it at all. I'm not saying he meant to break his jaw, but he definitely meant to hit him with his stick. |

As much as you've already heard it about Lupul possibly. - TheTaoOfSemenko
Meh, Toronto didn't place a #1 draft pick on the guy, didn't force him into the NHL while he was/still is physically maturing, and more importantly, it could be argued that in the past two years while Lupul has been on the ice he has produced more.
So... Sure. |

No, I certainly don't think Gaustad can skate, but he's tough, has PROVEN capable of playing 3rd line minutes before (albeit better on the 4th), and is great defensively. I can see why you'd suggest those other guys, but I think you were mistaken when you said "can skate". That or I grossly misinterpreted (which is entirely possible). Regardless, I'd prefer a more proven commodity coming in any trade. If we can get one of those "goons" through waivers, then I'm down as long as it doesn't pigeon-hole us later.
Also, A. Stewart is C. Stewart with half the skill and twice the laziness. |

if we're still in the 80s I guess an .880 SV% is still good
You don't aim to injure in a (frank)ing pre season game. You'd think even someone as educated as yourself would understand that. |

How tall is that Reinhert kid who we might have a shot at winning the lotto for next year? That might shore up the problem of not enough centres on our team....
Arent broken jaws usually one of the quickest injuries to come back from? Like all he needs to do is stabilize it for a week and then come back and wear a full cage? I thought players were back from that in a couple of weeks typically? |
