I don't know. I don't really like the idea of a former Vezina Goalie who is pissed off at my team playing for our biggest rivals. Regardless of spacecase status, that is not a very good combination... especially as we'd technically be paying him to play for the Penguins.
Of course if he thought he wasn't getting enough protection from his D in Philly, Pittsburgh isn't going to be an upgrade...

If the Panthers sign him to a contract he won't be available until next offseason. If the Panthers don't sign him then I'd question if the Pens would want him.

Halak or Elliott from St Louis makes more sense, whoever Blues want as their number 1 with Allen as their backup.
