Are there any second liners or 3rd line centers being waived?

Suspension?

I only watched a few minutes in the second, Schroeder looked good until he broke a foot, Lack is terrible behind the net, Shinkaruk was buzzing loved his energy but no real impact - him and Nurse seemed to have a little rivalry?

What little I saw of Lain looked good, guy can fly when he gets up to speed.

He should get two games

Well that's a no-brainer.

On a serious note, I hope Alberts is nothing more than a 7th d-man, but preferably waived. The guy is a penalty machine and gets beat way too often.

I'm not standing up for Alberts by any means but I do think what we saw last night was a guy simply out of shape. He's never been fast, but he's never been that slow either from what I've seen. Agreed though, he should be lowest on the pecking order but will get bumped up when we trade Edler for a top 6 forward.

Great blog Nucker.

I tried to post a comment but it wouldn't let me somehow. I agreed with all of your commentary. Apart from Corrado I'd be surprised if any other youngsters earn a full time roster spot, but then again necessity may dictate otherwise. Tortorella's shot-blocking fetish may have us suiting up all of these guys at some point this season.

I like blogs that are opinionated and less reading facts.Good effort but little to debate. We need a blog on what needs to happen before we become cup contenders again.

Thanks. I'll do the next one after the another game or two and post what lineup I'd roll with if I were Torts. And team strengths and weaknesses.

Well I did give my two cents on each player. I'm not going to be the guy who write Shinkaruk, the next Patrick Kane? Or Corrado the future Olympian. I'm not afraid to give an opinion, but I have to fully believe in what I write. It's hard to give a strong opinion or have a good debate on prospects/young player that a lot of us are still learning about. I'm sure my blog about the opening day lineup will have a few more disagreeing with me, including yourself.

Ian's blogs turned into troll fests. I literally tuned out at the end of last summer for several months because I couldn't handle the 3rd grader commentary going on after a yet another Luongo or Leafs Suck blog. This is better, hits be damned.

Totally agree.

The only reason there isn't much debate among the posters is that we haven't seen a game that matters yet. None of the other fanbases on this site are having huge debates yet either. It only takes one game to get the ball rolling though.

This is better when fans of other teams get more from our blogs then we do?

How do other fans get more from this blog? He wrote about the Canucks prospects? Other fans will always post here, same happens in the Leafs blogs.

The thing about HB is it is now trying to be a factual site with less bickering.I think TSN and NHL.com have that covered. I have seen about 10 assessments of the rookies and prospects in the last 3 days and most responses are the same.

Maybe I'll write one about how the team would be better off without Kesler
