lol not a bad game for Reimer, stops 38 of 40 shots and then another 15 penalty shots in a row...jesus

- Zezel

I like it, but not many of those shots were very good. I can't get over how bad his glove is, if he magically catches a shot, he drops the puck almost every time.
If I see that chicken wing move more this season, he is not going to be #1.
Goes down too early most times as well.
Reimer is a solid back up at best, hope Bernier is better, yet to see that.

if there is going to be a downfall for Reimer it's that he gives up terrible rebounds that Bernier seems to gobble up

And, yet, this backup goaltender holds the all-time record for career save percentage as a Leaf.

In a shortened season, not playing all games.

Stats are really misleading here.

That's a career lifetime stat as a member of the Leafs of all goalies who have faced 500 or more shots.

It's not a single season stat. It takes into account all 104 games he has played, posting a .915 save percentage over that time.

I do find it hilarious the lack of respect he gets. Leaf fans should really spend more time watching games of all 30 teams, they'll learn real quick that most goalies in todays NHL because they're puck blockers actually have poopty five holes and weak glove hands and can be beaten high.

The perfect encapsulation of the Leafs fan base: the all time franchise save percentage record holder is suddenly relegated to "back up" status after we bring in a guy who, to this point, has only ever been a literal back up his whole career.

I hope Bernier has thick skin. If he somehow survives here this whole season, he better be prepared to out-duel Reimer his whole career. God help him if we trade Reimer and he goes on to have more success...

I don't want to alarm everybody.

But Colborne is poop and always has been, the excuses are endless including the wrist injury when he was "really turning it around." The guy at every level of hockey has 2 months of brilliance and the rest mediocrity, check the game logs he does it every year.

I'm glad that you started with the warning, as otherwise I would have been extremely alarmed and might have done something stupid...

i wonder if calgary might be interested in colborne since theyre in a rebuild. we could package something like colborne, liles, 2nd for gio. theyre going to suck anyway and we save ~500K on the cap and get a decent dman

it is truly amazing that lack of respect... how many folks are thinking about the middle games in the series against Boston.

Reimer earned those standing ovations... and no matter what any one wants to comment the so called collapse at the end of game seven was a team effort... can't pin it on one guy.

the 915 save percentage also includes a good amount of time playing behind a Ron Wilson "structured defense"... so putting that in perspective... he might be closer to 920. not to mentioned being rushed back to return from injury by the same guy.

I'm all for Bernier getting a chance... but people bad-mouthing Reimer are just being "alarmist", and reacting the ding-a-ling articles that are written for press attention by the likes of Cox, Simmons, etc.

and whomever came up with the comment that Reimer had an easy night of shots against the Sabres... just go back and watch the replay.

They just made Gio Captain, no way they trade him... especially not in that deal. Not to mention that the idea of moving Liles would be to open up space, not to take back another contract.

that package is the equivalent of Louis Leblanc, Rafael Diaz and a second. actually this package is better because Diaz isn't signed beyond this year, doesn't make as much $$ and was way more productive last year.

I'm all for getting of rid of Liles, in fact been saying it since long before the trade deadline last spring, however, I think throwing Colborne away is folly. He's signed cheap - and he starting to show some signs of movement. I thought combination of Ashton and Colborne was decent to very good at times against the Sabres. Without them having someone to defer to on that line, meaning an established star... they made stuff happen.

I do believe the term is "development".. and that's what's happening with these young players.

If the Leafs were to deal for another defensemen it would advisedly be a right handed shot with some physicality and some mobility. Giordano effectively for Liles isn't a substantial change... and bringing in Giordano is an immediate roadblock for Gardiner and Reilly.

Buffalo fans think that Orr Sucked Scott in that fight last year!!!

Apparently Scott took care of Mclaren too.... 3 fights last year won rather easily over Scott and they think it was clear wins by Scott.

Oh and then the one sabre fan says so what , look at last night. Yeah, you lost 2-3 fights last night. Good example.

...if they think Scott won those fights they are bigger joke than the rest of the league already thinks they are....which I didn't think was possible unless your team was Vancouver.

Mclaren took a knee and looked scared and begged the ref to stop the fight..... (despite his knee never touching the ground)

I'll give you the Ott fight (why Ott fights I have no idea), but the Kaleta fight was a one punch fight. Kaleta lands #1 and Bodie is stunned. After that he's swinging wildly (and missing) to protect himself. Unanimous decision - Kaleta.

Not even remotely close.

he was (frank)ing horrendous all game. worst player on the team last night. Other than faceoffs, and one decent defensive play late in the game he was terrible.
