If that were a test, I think he'd like to take it over again.

On the bright side, one thing looked to be in regular season form:
The Post-Game Crappy Presser.
Can't recall a single relevant remark he made of substance NOT regarding the new arena. He could have at least blamed himself for not getting the players focused on the f'in game.(picking up right where he left off LAST SEASON) This team, for all the prospects and talent in the pipeline STILL has an unseasoned, inferior coach at the helm and a trigger-shy GM riding atop the flybridge looking far, far, far away, across the horizon at an oasis that never seems to get any closer. Next off-season, Garth is going to sign LeBron James to be JT's wing in '14-'15. His argument being, he led the NBA in scoring and was playoff MVP, once.

If he can skate.. why not try!!

Get it done Garth.. we have faith!!

none of your forwards besides JT can compare to rick nash so no nikka
- rangerdanger94

As you SHOULD know one player doesn't make a team. Nash although good has not proved all that much thus far contrary to belief on your thread. Richards IF he turns his game around will be huge. He's almost the pivot for your team. Maybe even more so than Nash who you know is going to preform.

Numbers, numbers, numbers. Guy plays zero PP and is our best PK'er and still managed to get thirty goals. He's a horse.

Yes, he is. If you factor minutes per game, goals per 60 minutes played, offensive/defensive zone starts, and PP/PK time, Grabner IS as good of a goal scorer.

I never said Grabner has historically been as good as Nash, but last season they were on par goal scoring wise.

i would just like to point out that grabner had 16 goals and 5 assists while nash had 21 goals and 21 assists.

Nash is absolutely not a better complete player than Tavares.

I'd like to point out that Nash pretty much doubled(if not more don't feel like looking it up)Grabner's ice time and also was on the first PP unit while Grabner saw zero PP time and spent most of his time on the PK. I'm not saying Grabner is a better player than Nash. In fact I think Nash is a great player but when you look at the numbers and the FACT that Grabner is the best PK'er I've seen anywhere in years you realize his value. Nash though good in his own right is NOT good enough for you to be coming over here spouting. Nash and JT should not even be discussed in the same sentence.

Go look at goals per 60 minutes
And compare their PP and PK times, offensive and defensive zone starts. Grabner was a better goal scorer last year wether you admit it or not

Of all stats for skaters. Plus - Minus maybe the most misleading and meaning less stat in hockey. There are so many variables and factors that come into play. In many cases it means absolutely nothing. Playing with a lousy line mate or in front of a back up goalie can drag your + - down while playing in front of a franchise Goalie & having all star line mates can give you a false positive. Its a misleading stat and a useless fact to bring up in an argument. IMO.

Dan...I'm agreeing with you on the Brooklyn thing..maybe it's not the best for hockey but it's better than other alternatives.

Switching the subject, I've been reading all the season previews on the Islanders and per many of writers they are predicting them around 9th or 10th in the conference. It seems Snow didn't do enough in the off season for the Islanders to make it to the next level. Hopefully, some the 1st round picks like Reinhardt, Strome and Nelson will step it up. Also, it looks like Anders Lee possibly might have found a spot on the team. What are your views on this? Also, does it make sense to try and make an oofer sheet to Derek Stefan and or make a trade for a defenseman like Cory Franson, since contract negotiations are stalled and he is thinking of playing next year in Europe.

- kear20

I like Lee I can't figure out what his ceiling is...he has a pro body and pro hands...if his skating to get better I think he can be a solid 20-25 goal physical winger..if his skating doesn't get better he is Trent Hunter
