by no way am i saying that brooklyn is ideal..and i'm not attacking anyone.. i'm just suggesting if we werent in brooklyn what our other options would be..i know its not perfect..but my time line was flooded last night with isle fans talking about changing teams and wishing they would move to seattle because this is too hard....i'll adress it tomorrow, we are going to have a talk about our future...many will not like what i'm going to say...but hey its just my thoughts and i'm just an asshat - Dan Petriw
A little too soon to condemn the place. Railings can be altered/removed. Seating could be added. If theres money to be made, my guess is they'll figure out a way to iron out the wrinkles. |

Cant wait to read this one.... I just dont understand how anyone can be a fan & wish the team away because they dont like the place they play. Not much of a fan in my book.

Thought they might be leaning that way. He really needs to up the physicality along the boards though. He looks OK otherwise...not spectacular, but it doesn't look like the game's moving way too fast for him at all. - UIF
Just hope the don't give him the 9 game look and sit him the press box for 7-8 of those games. |

I guess judging by the main board I'm in the minority, but I wish they'd forget about the hybrid icing. Don't really like the idea of placing another part of the sport at the mercy of subjective judgment calls. I think it's guaranteed they'll really blow this one from time to time and it'll lead to a goal off of the ensuing faceoff...bet that happens far more often than anyone getting hurt under the current rules. |

Also, I thought the fighting/helmet rule was the lamest since the trapezoid...until I heard about the "jersey tuck" rule. Talk about a rule just for the sake of making a rule... |

I agree. To me they're trying too hard to tame a sport that shouldn't be |

The way they played the final 12 games of the season is the way they have to play all season. They have to be stingy on defense and strong on the forecheck. This is virtually the same team as last year so they are more than capable. I think once the real season begins we will see guys blocking more shots on the pk etc. |

Cappy feels more comfortable with a 19 year old d man than Carkner and Hickey. That should tell people something. And I like it. Cappys post game interview showed hes not handing out spots this year. If you don't try you don't play. |

Dan...I'm agreeing with you on the Brooklyn thing..maybe it's not the best for hockey but it's better than other alternatives.
Switching the subject, I've been reading all the season previews on the Islanders and per many of writers they are predicting them around 9th or 10th in the conference. It seems Snow didn't do enough in the off season for the Islanders to make it to the next level. Hopefully, some the 1st round picks like Reinhardt, Strome and Nelson will step it up. Also, it looks like Anders Lee possibly might have found a spot on the team. What are your views on this? Also, does it make sense to try and make an oofer sheet to Derek Stefan and or make a trade for a defenseman like Cory Franson, since contract negotiations are stalled and he is thinking of playing next year in Europe. |

I really wish they'd give Strome a single game on JTs wing |

I don't know why Hickey, Carkner and Finley are on the team...they need another veteran defenseman like Franson...doesn't look like he's playing in Toronto this year... |

As much of a help Franson will be I don't see Snow pulling the trigger. Its too obvious of a thing to do. He will end up on another team (Maybe NJ) for a 4th round pick |

My guess is they want Strome, Nelson and Lee be the line that offers secondary scoring. I'm just guessing...don't beat me up... |

Place holder, transition players... one of the 3 could end up being a 7th
