I heard the sight lines in the Kansas City arena are awesome! That was your other option, it's not a finished product; they have two years to make it better.
- Dan Petriw

Wait.. why is it that everyone that points out how friggen bad this place is for a hockey game, the first response is "Better then KC, Seattle..."??

this Arena was very badly thought out. I realize it was built for the Nets in mind... But thats it. There was never any foresight into any other kind of tenant. The arena is small for Hockey, the site lines in a lot of places suck major @ss, for the majority of the fan base the location is inconvenient.. this just isnt and it will never be Home of the NY islanders, Its the Home of the Brooklyn Nets, we are just a tenant making due with the best we could.

Im not saying we should still be in Nassau hoping to get a deal done, because we all know if not for the Brooklyn deal, there still wouldn't be a Ratner deal with Nassau. Brooklyn was the logical move when everything went south.. but it is far from Utopia. Wang, The county, The politicians, & the people of Nassau chased the Islanders from Nassau.. I am VERY happy to have them still in NY, I am VERY happy they are in Brooklyn... but I will never be happy with the arena.. it sucks.

There is also Seattle...take your choice Kansas City, Seattle or Brooklyn ? ...Barclays Center management said at the press conference that they are working on having a better customer experience.

They cant make the seating less tight or the site lines better.. Nore can they add a section to close the "Horse shoe" The only customer experience they really can control is the number of beers on tap & the scent being blown through the air vents. Sadly this will be enough for the new fans.

Believe we all are happy they didn't move but it's ok for someone to give their opinion on the Barclays center without getting attacked. Or at least it should be. They are going to only be able to do so much short of ripping the place down and rebuilding it. It's not made for hockey.

Cody Franson from Toronto...

Would be a wonderful pick up.. but what would it take to get him?

Player & prospect? Pick & prospect?

Does anyone know if he's available?

Trolling during a preseason game. Very Impressive At least you don't hide your obsession for the Islanders.

I heard a lot of this from the Islander fan friends I have who were there.

Personally I think it's a right of fans to complain about the new venue and not have it thrown in their face all time that it's better than being in Kansas City or Seattle all the time.

If the puck is being played in front of the penalty box, all 15,000 fans in the arena have the right to see it, not just the 8000 on the other side of the building.

Jeeze what has this world come to.. Im agreeing with a blueshirt!

I agree with you100%. It seems if someone gives an opinion that is not complimentary towards the Barclay center they get ripped. It's stupid. Of course everyone is happy they didn't move.but moving into a building where it's not a good experience watching a game is not going to be beneficial to the team. So far I have heard nothing but negative reviews. From the people that have actually been there while the people that haven't are the first to jump down their throat fordiscussing their experience when they haven't even done so themselves.

Why shouldn't he?? That's the reason he was signed. They didnt sign him and then go
"OK, now we have him... where can we use him, hey how about over here!!!"

They said "hey we have a first line wing spot open, lets find a player to fill it" found the guy, signed the guy & put him where they wanted him.

Strome was drafted to be our second line center, Nino was drafted to be our first line wing.. Nino is gone & now people think the obvious choice is to move Strome to the first line wing. Im not saying he will never end up there.. it could happen, but the team is stronger for the future with JT followed by Strome, Nelson & Cizikas down the middle. That's as solid a group of centers this team has seen in decades.

According to Darren Draeger the Leafs are looking for a 2nd rd pick and a good prospect...but according to a previous post, it looks like Reinhardt might have made the team...so a trade for a defenseman is probably unlikely...the Leafs blogger said Franson was looking to possibly play in Europe this year.

Don't think Reinhart *possibly* getting his 9 game look means that he made the team.

I'm not saying Strome but how about letting the guy play and see where he(PMB)slots best and who he has chemistry instead of forcing the issue. Bailey looked great on the 1st line how about giving that a chance? Strome looks like he has talent and a lot of it but in the ONE game I saw he looks like he needs a little more seasoning and I don't mean Adobo. I've seen PMB's stats saw him play a few times and I betcha that's more than half the people on here singing his praises? He's just another half assed winger option for JT IMO. You are allowed to disagree and I hope I'm wrong but I'll keep my opinion thanks till proven otherwise. I remember this time last year when quite a few of you guys were selling the idea that Boyes was going to "recapture all that "magic" he had 6 years ago and there were actually some people signing on for that nonsense. This is no different.

But what they tried to do with Boyes was capture lightning in a bottle.. they wanted to recapture one exceptional year he had rather then expect his career avg.
PMB is a silly talented player that has had injury issues, not consistency. They aren't hoping he has a productive season, its expected.. they are hoping his injury woes are behind him.

The vibe I got tonight is that Griffin Reinhart starts the season with #Isles. Have 9 games to make a decision.

- eichiefs9

Thought they might be leaning that way. He really needs to up the physicality along the boards though. He looks OK otherwise...not spectacular, but it doesn't look like the game's moving way too fast for him at all.

by no way am i saying that brooklyn is ideal..and i'm not attacking anyone.. i'm just suggesting if we werent in brooklyn what our other options would be..i know its not perfect..but my time line was flooded last night with isle fans talking about changing teams and wishing they would move to seattle because this is too hard....i'll adress it tomorrow, we are going to have a talk about our future...many will not like what i'm going to say...but hey its just my thoughts and i'm just an asshat
