To be fair when Simon lost control a couple of years ago, the Islander fans had enough of his antics and let it be known when he came back. Remember Nolan crying to the media about the fans booing Simon when he came back

Exactly. Just skate away. Nothing wrong with doing that. But slashing a guy twice at the ankle and then spearing him on the way off the ice while he's engaged with another guy is just wrong.

Have I said one critical thing about Clarkson coming to Kessel's aid? Absolutely not. Because it was the right thing to do.

And for the record, I was hugely critical of Simon slashing Hallweg with his stick in that Isles game, even if Hallweg is a scumbag lowlife. Hallweg did nothing to warrant a stick attack from Simon and most Isles fans would tell you that.
