Waive Tedenby to go to Albany. I don't think anyone will claim him.

Same with Barch. While the Devils will be paying $600K to MT and $700K to Barch, I do not see any other options.

I think Brunner should be signed.

I think someone would take him.

i honestly wasn't as impressed with merrill as some were. offensively he did well but both the shorties i though he was kind of poor on but either way its only 1 preseason game and at this point i really dont see merrill making the team right now
- BDizzlez

I he was more teh guy caught on the ice with Zidlickly and not so much the guy who was on the ice for 2 shorties. Big difference. Zidlickly should be playing in the ECHL that is how brutal he is. I think we would get more use out of him switching him to forward lmao.

Trade fayne for a 2nd to Dallas and trade JJ and zidlicky to the bolts for panik.
- shvingter88

We'd be lucky to get anything for them. throw them in a trashcan somewhere.

Someone picked up Buttler when we sent him down so I also think someone lacking offense takes a chance on him and gives him a better chance then we have.

I would try my best to move Marty at the deadline for a 1st there I said it hahah if he wants to resign with us afterwards he can and likely would lol I would try and sell Urbom really high to another team see if I cant get a first or a forward taken in the first with equal talent. other then that not sure what all I would do untill I got a good read on what the other gms are throwing out there.

Might even see if I can get a 3rd for Sal at the deadline

I want someone who can put the puck in the damn net with some consistency, that's who i would trade for!
Seriously i have no idea, i'd like to see us get a goal scorer obviously and some more speed. But knowing Lou if he does move anyone it will probably be for draft picks.

I think the Devils are saddled to Zidlicky at this point. Feels like Lou panicked for a PP QB once Kovy left. I don't get it. I wish we could package him with someone, but I'm not sure JJ would offset his price tag.

Fayne anywhere for a 2/3 pick would probably make the most sense.

Meh I think those two moves I would do either way its just trimming fat not so much as selling if I was selling I would be shipping of real assets like Elias. I am also looking to maximize the return out of some players that hold more value then they put back into the team like Marty. there just isnèt much to do with our roster since half the guys who would think about moving just signed here as free agents so it throws a wrench into your question unless you want us to go all NHL 14 here lol What else are you going to do but move Urbom for good pick or prospect it clears a d spot and helps fill your forwards prospects out. Unless you move one of Gelinas, Merril, Severson for a great return but then you are also potentially losing out on a great defensemen and the Sal trade is meh losing him wouldnt devastate our on ice product I dont think especially since its likely to be his last year and if he was moved at the deadline.

How do they have room for a rookie on D? They have 7 already, same 7 as last year, they're not keeping 8 again, please no!

Exactly. We have no room to add anyone unless its a 3 for 1 deal or its someone that will get sent down.

I know i shouldnt even be talking like this but this could be the year Marty just poops the bed and yea one pre season game forget that even happened it still could be there year if I know this could be the case I try and steal a first for him I might wait till the deadline but I do it. It is better then letting him get shelled and retire the only we got out of that is losses.

I like Boucher in Albany for a year.
I'm in the minority, keep Vochenkov. I think Fayne is the odd guy out.
I don't mind Merrill going to Albany with stints in jersey if injury bug hits.

- Devils Advocate

Merrill will be a good one, ready next season, not yet though. He needs some of the seasoning that Gelinas has had. Gelly is ready! Need to move someone for him though. Urbom looks ready as well, and is a waiver risk, what can they do unless they trade?

i think everyone is a little off the wagon right now. if we did start with larsson, greene, zidlicky, salvador, fayne, volchenkov or harrold i dont think it would be a disaster. I do hope one of volchenkov or harrold get traded however for the fact that i dont want to see urbom gone for nothing. just like on forwards i want to see barch, janssen and olesz waived so we dont lose one of teddy or jj for nothing

My thing with Urbom is he will be a NHL defensemen but nothing more like who is the best defensive defensemen in the league ? Urbom will be 5-10 pt D man in the NHL who is good in is own end. Once teams see him in the NHL and see that his Value will drop from what it is now imo I think you got to optimize his value right now and move him because the role he will play can be filled via free agent where Merril could be a top 2 guy but certainly top 4 and less likely to be filled via trade or free agent. That is just my thought process on Urbom.

Barch is a joke if I am Lou I am sifting through unsigned tough guys once pre season has settled down. Janssen Didnt look good in his pre season fight either. I think I would be happy if we got a Heavy weight considering he wouldnt need to be in the line up every night. I mean Bernier and Carter are scrappy enough guys that you dont really need to have a Chris Neil, Shawn Thornton type enforcer who plays everygame. I would be calling Nonis up see if I cant get Mclaren for future considerations or something in the 6th to 7th range pick wise

I would be surprised if Urbom is claimed on waivers. He is a Defensive D man with limited NHL experience.

Many team are close or close to cap with more than 23 players with one way contracts. I expect to see a few experience NHL players on waivers to start season.
