The new 49ers Stadium (Levis Stadium) will be the most state of the art sports venue in the world and the Niners will start playing their next season. Its about 2 miles away from the Shark Tank. We should get one over here! It gets pretty cold in winter and doestn rain too much. The weather would probably be better here than that last couple rainy Winter Clasics

The Winter Classic is all about drawing the non fan into watching on NBC. Sadly, the NHL could care less about people who are already fans, they're all ready getting your money and viewership. You ask any non hockey fan to name 2 NHL players, 90% of them are going to say Crosby and Ovechkin. Not the teams' faults, not the players' faults.

I honestly wouldn't care if they had an unconventional matchup.

I'd really like to see some other teams get a crack at it. Edmonton, St. Louis, Minnesota, Columbus, Winnipeg or even Stars. Open it up a bit. Any team but one from the Met division automatically gets consideration. Start with Winnipeg.

Really? Because I've been to two Winter Classics, and I'm going to Chicago, and I'm not tired of it. Neither are any of my brothers or other family members who have gone.

Winter classic needs to come back to buffalo. No other one has lived up to it.

I don't think another will live up to it. Keep in mind though, that the original Winter Classic was very much a Sabres home game that happened to be in a football stadium. Now, the NHL 'buys out' the home team for the game, and it is more an NHL event than a home game for the host team. So another game in Buffalo would probably be a lot different now than the original.

I'm going to Chicago as well but I was already going to be in the city for a trip. That's 3 outdoor games for us and how many other teams have gone? Even once? Philly, NYR, Boston, Washington and us should not be involved. I would rather see other matchups. I'm sick of the league pushing Ovechkin and the Caps. For that matter I'm getting tired of our team having the same thing done. Why not push some other teams and their youth out there? Grow the damn game.

yeah, never understood why the NHL is not marketing the sh!t out of Tavares. He is young, a top 10 or even top 5 player in the league, and is only getting better. Plus, he plays in the biggest market in the country. Tavares should be right up there with Crosby.
