Just curious if Oilers fans think RNH can score more than 5 goals this coming season. Vegas has the over/under at 6.5 goals for him.

the deal is premature but he will be worth it in a year or 2. while his production was down last year on the stat sheet, he was a better overall player imo and improved. in contrast, brad richards was on pace for a 60 point season on paper but looked absolutely awful like a career ECHLer in way over his head every time he was on the ice. the stats don't always tell the full story.

hopefully, his injury history the past year or 2 doesn't become a chronic issue. if he stays healthy, this deal will definitely be a bargain midway through it.

The 10 year, 87.5 million dollar Yashin deal was pretty cool... Not as awesome as the 15 year, 67.5 million dollar Dipietro deal though.

The org thinks highly of him ,as do most fans. he injured his shoulder. get over it.

it's a little high now, won't be in short time, the 6 mil price tag is a fair level to all our current and upcoming stars.

Yeah but 4 of those guys have won the cup, and one is in the last year of the contract, so really not as similar as you might want to believe.

no kidding, the Oilers players have proven they can play fire wagon hockey and be the worst team in the NHL by a country mile in the last 3 seasons. It must be pre-season the Oilers hype is out of control again.

I think what you "don't get" is that 3 players cannot make a team a winner. Hall, Ebs, and RNH had basically no offensive help from any of the other players (except for Gagner maybe, and Yakupov last season) and they had an incredibly sh1tty defense. If you can't see the difference between the players I mentioned, and the rest of the team, you need to clean the sh1t out of your eyes... I guess E. Kane shouldn't have been rewarded... I guess Jamie Benn shouldn't been rewarded... I guess Skinner shouldn't have been rewarded... I guess Landeskog shouldn't have been rewarded. Penalize these guys hard work and obvious talent, because they played for bad teams... Makes sense.

You're right, flashfire... He's just a sh1tty player... He wasn't hurt at all. The shoulder surgery he had this off-season was just for fun.

So the Oilers locking up their 1st overall pick... A centerman whome they consider a franchise cornerstone...is one of the worst things ever to happen to the Oilers. They are now doomed.

With out being injured he will be better than ever

Not saying its a horrible contract but its going to be hard for the Oil to build a complete team with 4 guys making 6M a season and then have to worry when Schultz/Dubnyk need ext as well as filling out the rest of the team!

Only time will tell but Nuge certainly hasd the tools to be an awesome player and great centre Adam Oates-esque
