Interesting....Its amazing how terrible some people can be at their job, yet still stay in the industry. |

The Bruins fans are pretty high on Morrow after seeing him a bit. He's apparently going to spend the season in Providence, but he'll be the man there in every situation. Made some great defensive plays on Ovechkin in the game last night and he still has the skating and booming shot that he always has.
The trade was worth it before we got Iginla, I don't think it happens if he agrees earlier. Maybe if BMorrow doesn't injure his kneecap he plays as well as he did that first playoff game. Who knows.
Looking at the lineup, I think its crunch time for Niskanen. He has to prove he's worth the #5 spot over Despres, Bortuzzo and Engelland while they're all in the lineup. |

I hate to say this but Vokoun had better be our starter on opening night and split the season at least 50% with MAF, he looks very good. |

Uhmm Bortuzzo x Sharp not happening..
I liked what I saw from Sill/Payerl. They are decent 4th liners.
..and Chicago scores.
Who's been the better player: D'Agostini or Kobasew? |

They shouldn't bother. One of those two will always be scratched. |

They should consider it. Adams may not be here much longer, glass won't be here after a year. They are relatively young guys who could take a 4th line roll for years to come. |

I'm not saying I wouldn't want to see it. Just saying it's not going to happen as long as Adams and Glass remain healthy. Disco isn't going to play a younger guy over those two. |

Absolutely. Add another young defenseman to the organization.
Pouliot had a nice goal and all but as he said himself, he needs to work on being sure in his own zone. Maatta and Harrington are making things much tougher on the staff than he has. No shame in that. Bortuzzo has done a tremendous job.
I don't think there's any denying it's Beau's camp though. He looks supremely confident and if he isn't top 6 we have every reason to call Bylsma out on the carpet.
Vokoun. Enough said.

Lines for Oct 3rd
Kuni/Bennett Sid Dupes
Kuni/Bennett Malkin Neal
Jussi/Jeffrey Sutter Kobesaw
Payerl Adams Vitale
D'Agostini
Letang Scuderi
Orpik Martin
Despres Nisk
Burtuzzo
Vokun
Fleury
Would like to see Bennett with Sid but won't be too upset if he is with Geno /Neal
Glass should be waived and Payerl and Kobesaw should get a chance. Not sold on D'Agostini.. has speed but is little (Conner 2.0) Like to see Jeffrey get a chance to play on 3rd line but that bumps jussi to somewhere
D is tricky because DB says Despres will be top 4 then we got Scuds back, now burtuzzo is playing great and Nisk is still on team... unfortunately I think DB will send Despres down to wb/s which I think is very wrong
Goalie---sigh! I really want Flower to be starter but he looks awful in games and even in practice. Vokun is making saves and playing well... I would go with hot hand and put Vokun in but DB will defer to Fleury...

If that happens it would most likely be for $ and not talent. It'd just be until the cap situation gets sorted. |

I wouldn't be to sure about that. DB's handling or treatment of Despres has been, well, awful. It's painfully obvious he isn't a Despres fan by his actions last year. His comments about him being a top two D pairing kid this year should be taken with a grain of salt. He talks out of his ass at times, especially in this instance.

I don't disagree with you. He certainly should have played more last year than he did. He has surpassed Engelland and for that matter so has Bortuzzo. Not even close. Engelland isn't bad but he has a much lower ceiling.
What I am saying is, ideally the only reason he gets sent down is due to a cap issue they stil need to deal with. It all depends on any other moves and the severity of the cap. |

He shouldn't even be sent down for $ reasons.. glass can be waived for other players. HE is useless! and Yes Nisk is being the scapegoat bc of money issues as well but if he goes Despres has a spot.
Also I cant wait to see how maata and pouliot play in wb/s.. a full yr in the A with maybe a call up or two would do wonders for them. very excited to see them on the team in a few yrs |

I completely agree. I just question whether Niskanen gets moved at all. Glass? What Glass? The Glass around the rink? That's the only Glass I want to see.

Will have to wait another year. They are not eligible. Yet two more players who are harmed by the stupid CHL agreement with the NHL on restricting players from the AHL.
Another year of juniors for those guys is useless. Its a shameful rule.
And I'll take it a step further, if the CHL wants to restrict European goalies from being draft eligible than they should no longer be eligible to keep players from the AHL.
If you are going to tell willing and able players they can't play based on where they are from, then they shouldnt be able keep the players based on age.
They shift the parameters as it suits them. |

This hurts Maatta and Pouliot, as they are both probably 2 good for junior, but not at NHL level yet. AHL would be perfect.
But... in this case, the AHL age rule really helps the Pens. It buys them one more season before their entry level deals kick in. |
