interesting...i cant imagine it would be more than a few weeks though...although depending where on his leg i guess...weird - LetsGoIsles
No so much where on the leg, but how deep is the laceration? How many stitches? Is any of the tendons or muscle damaged? This is not good news. Hopefully its not that deep and he can get back by the end of october or earlier. This sucks |

I understand that Bouchard is likely to start for this year. Come on, I would love to see Strome and Reinhart join the team this year. I don't care if people think they need one more year before they come to Islanders. Give me a break! I want to see Strome. I know that Reinhart and Strome are a real deal! - ISLES1119

i dont care if isles win or lose preseasons game. its the observations that make me worried.
Poulin and Nilsson were both terrible and Nabby got lit up for 4 goals.
Also in the game that streamed with KO squad. I turned on game after Grabner scored and it felt like 40 mins of hockey before the isles had another shot on net.
what doesnt worry me is JT, Moulson and Grabs scored as you would expect.
So bottomline - If Poulin/Nilsson can't help Nabby it doesnt matter how good our offense is.
As for our future- the thought of what we have on the come is amazing.
Strome, Nelson, Reinhart, Pulock alone are going to be 4 incredible future isles - Spartiarti
I thought Nilsson looked good. Neither of those goals were his fault. One was a defensive turnover INFRONT of the net on a 5v3. And the other was a deflection on a 5v4

Nino's laceration would have been so much better as top six power-forward on JT's wing. |

Ill tell you what I would do if I was GM, trade Poulin and one of our d prospects for a decent goalie. All we need is averaging goaltending at this point. - mighty13duck
The season hasn't started....I wouldn't even think about trading for a goalie until mid season at the earliest. Poulin has started a grand total of 17 career NHL games, why are you so quick to trade him after a scrimmage? Let's at least see how he does in real game action over the course of say 15-20 games before declaring him a wreck. In addition, if he isn't the one, how about he goes back to the A and we try Nilsson? Why deal a defensive prospect before even knowing how these guys look?

I really liked Donovan last night, and as the game progressed Reinhart looked good. Slow first period, but lets remember that was hit first NHL game ever.
I think Reinhart may make the team next year |

I dunno. Clutterbuck was slated to play on the third line, I have a feeling the Isles may decide it's more important to allow Strome to develop properly than bring him up due to a third line vacancy. I could be wrong, but I think this ultimately play more into Bolton's hands
Xxkeaner17xX
**edit and by saying that, I mean more that Bolton would slide into the 4th line while one of Martin or McDonald move into Clutterbuck's spot. |

everyone seems to forget that nabby stole a few games for the isles last year than he shat the bed in the playoffs but without nabby last year, the isles arent in the playoffs... nabby will be fine and poulin needs to prove himself... - LetsGoIsles
I agree. Nabby was pretty good to great sometimes during the regular season. I just hate the idea of working to get into the playoffs with him as our goaltender though. He was atrocious against the Pens. |
