what are the chances they would be claimed off waivers?

seems small

- Marc D

I would think, but they still have to go through the process first. That's why they couldn't assign them today and they're still on the roster.

I really like Talbot. He's one of those players who truly does a little of everything. Even when he doesn't score, you still notice him on the ice.
- PLindbergh31

It's why I never understood people who wanted to trade him. He's not a dime-a-dozen player.

Agreed. Very solid player. Underrated.

Off topic, but did anyone notice that the title of the Flames blog is slightly pink while the title of all of the other blogs in pure white? I thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me until I clicked on the Flames logo up top and looked at the difference in the 2 different title blocks.
- jmatchett383

It's because the title portion is translucent and it's overlapping the red flames jersey.

Also, sort of off topic, but related to Pronger.

So, since Pronger's on an over-35 contract, he has to be LTIRed until forever. However, assume he WASN'T on an over-35 contract. If I was him, and I had the option to 1) retire and be be done or 2) NOT retire and collect my money every year, I'd want to not retire. So does it really make a difference in his case whether or not he is on an over-35 contract?

Again? Is this your third?

And a hearty congratulations. If you're half the parents you are people you have some lucky kids. They'll still turn on you at 13.

Thanks.

#2. It's a boy, so I'm pumped for that. Looking forward to (frank)ing him up somehow.

Boys are easy. You raise them to 13 and turn 'em loose.

If Pronger wasn't injured, he could decide to stop playing, and get paid.

But I mean, with an injury like he had, it doesn't seem to matter how old he was. He'd have the same injury if he were a year younger, and he could still sit back and collect.

But faceoffs taken on the PK, can be game changers. And Hall should be involved in those. I can also see Hall taking key defensive draws late in games. I've read that the Flyers may not want to keep Laughton if he doesn't make the team as a Center. Don't how truthful that is, but it's out there
- MJL

Thats funny. I said something along those lines a few days ago and got a 3 page lecture how that wont make a difference, players always play out of position, and all that matters is he is one of the best 12 players.....

I asked about this the other, do you honestly think they are better with Raffl as the third line wing over Gagne?

As far as grit that is a wash.

Maybe it is strictly down to dollars and cap space, but for my money they are a better team with Gagne there.

- Marc D

I think it's a wash. Gagne has experience, but at this point, he's just a depth player. I'd rather pay Raffl just south of $800K than Gagne $1.5-$2mm

Yep, the injury had nothing to do with age. You're saying if this happened when he was say, 32, they'd be in the same situation. So if I understand correctly what you're trying to say. The fact that it's a 35+ contract, with the situation the way it is, really doesn't mean anything. If that's so, I agree.

You still have to worry about them bringing home their pregnant girlfriend. Mine's 16 and I'd pay good money to make the girls go away until he graduates and gets a job. Right now we make him play hockey and refuse to buy him deodorant.

It's not working.

And although Raffle may not give you as much offense as Gagne would. They're very similar players otherwise.

According to a North Charleston police report, 54-year-old Vernett Bader was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature after officers showed up at her Brossy Circle home to investigate reports of an assault with a knife.

When officers arrived, Bader was standing outside the house with another man who told police the victim had several cuts on his arms and hands. Bader caused all of the cuts, the report states.

When police talked to the victim, he said he had been listening to the Eagles when Bader told him that she did not want to hear the classic rock band’s songs. So the man told her to shut up, the report states.

Bader responded by allegedly getting a 14-inch serrated bread knife and swung it at the man repeatedly, the report states. The victim wrestled the knife away from Bader, but she came back with another knife before the victim could run and lock himself in the bathroom.

I just saw it and your movie love affair sprang instantly to mind.

I was going to post the cab scene then I remembered it probably wouldn't last on the thread before someone took it down.
