Don't be. To balance it out I'm fat, ugly and scary.

When I was young and poor children mistook me for Jesus. (Minus the robes)

Edit: Stop right there. I had on regular clothes. Jeans and a t-shirt.

You trying to say Jesus didn't wear jeans?

I always wondered if half-orcs could be good artists...

That said I bet you beat your self image needlessly. The person in my head doesn't look much like the person I see in the mirror...
And be glad you're a man, I was told today in my corporate job that I needed to dress more feminine if I wanted to advance in my career. I nearly choked him to death on his neon green polo shirt.

Honestly, I'd report that dude to HR. That really sounds messed up.

Oh even better I had a chat with his manager today, my female director. And the "feedback" came from her.
I'm screwed.
Apparently a button down shirt and slacks are considered too masculine....

I wear jeans and a t-shirt to corporate meetings, even with other company execs. No one ever says a damn thing. If they did I'd be insulted and I'd walk out.

Always. Problem is the higher you go the more you piss off those you go above. I would like to get a bonus this year... And both the people I talked to are the ones who decide it.
After a bit you lose no matter what you do. Corporate world blows, and no it's still not equal out here fellas. It's better but many of the women who have "made it" are harder on the women beneath them than a man would be. Sad part is I'm damn good at what I do. So all feedback on my performance is stellar.
Maybe I can get a job cleaning up MOAT's brushes or something...

That sucks.
You could always try out for the ice girls. But you have to dress fairly feminine for that.

I only have brushes at home. I have to work on a computer to get paid unless I freelance for someone.

He got a $13M signing bonus, and only received $1M for actually playing. If he sat out all season (or say there was some sort of work stoppage), he would still have gotten the $13M.
- jmatchett383

I gotcha! But really all a Signing bonus is part of the players Salary paid upfront. But I get your point about getting paid even if the Season didn't happen.

Even if he was eligible to come back I seriously doubt they'd call him back so soon. Everyone knew he wasn't making the team this season. I think they are going to start trying some serious D pairings in the last few pre-season games...
Where does Streit fit? That kind of thing...

- FlyersGrace

kind of been wondering about that myself

Best i can figure is:

Timonen - Schenn
Coburn - Grossmann
Streit - Meszaros/Gus

I don't want to beat a dead hose, but I wish the 3rd pair was just Meszaros - Gus.

I've seen lots of speculation of Coburn/Streit too

I don't know and I bet Lavi is going to try several different combos to see what works.

I'll say this, I'm glad Kimmo is back even if he is a bit slower.
He makes nearly everyone he plays with better.

Yeah, me too.
Gus needs a strong shut down defenseman and a vet to settle him... Grossmann on paper seems ideal for that.
Timmonen can continue to develop Schenn. They have always been good together.
Which leaves Coburn, who really needs a strong comeback year this year. Which is why I hesitate when I think of this tandem.
Mez and Streit? Both offensive D, so probably not.
Does Timmonen have the speed left to bail Streit out if he over commits? Prolly not. Schenn? He's also often getting out of position for that big hit (though this is getting better).
Until I actually see some of the pairings I don't think there is a good answer on paper. They are all about the same. Some good points, some bad ones.
