Drew Bledsoe went to a few Sabres games. Difference is Drew was washed up, EJ is just getting started.
But that being said you have take in a Sabres game to truly understand Buffalo. - Buffalo-Sabres
A Dark tanned man that grew up in Virginia then went to FSU while spending his entire time playing football.. This might be the first time he has ever been to any kind of Hockey game. Nice to see him going to see what its all about.. And as you said Hockey is a big part of being in Buffalo |

Girgs > Grigo
Grigo was 0G 0A +1, 0 shots, 0 hits, 71% on draws
McNabb with 1G, 2A +4
Pysyk was +4 too
Larsson with 2G, 0A + 1
Only -'s were Risto and Tallinder at -2 - Nebula65
5 for 7 is nothing to write home about. He looks disinterested when he plays. Zero shots?
Larsson's 12 for 17 was more impressive and his game is was far superior and he looks like he wants to skate AND score. |

Right. One EJ learns that he'll be embraced by Hockey Buzzards
I will admit Myers looks much better. The millionaire hangover must be over.

Morning gents, I just watched the highlights from last night. I thought we looked decent. Armia looked great, so did Meyers. Should be interesting to see who starts were at the start if the season. |

he really needs to go to the AHL.. Q is useless and he doesn't have the drive for the NHL.. throw him in the AHL to humble him a little |

Actually caught the game last night (a rarity).. Regardless of the goal Larsson was very noticeable all night. Makes the smart play and looks like a leader. He directed traffic. Seemed smart on the ice. Zadorov is physical but maybe tries too hard .( expected). Hank was slow. Myers had a decent game. Trying to be more physical. Flynn was fast. Leino and Tropp worked well.
IMO the team was outplayed except for surges in each of the last 2 periods but scored when they played well.
Khudobin fought the puck all night. (Maybe Boston has a great D ?? Duh...) |

Hes got a bad combination of heavy skates and low effort. Just waves his stick around in the dzone. |

Armia was OK, I liked his forecheck but he needs to learn to pass to others, especially when hes the worst one on his line.
Larsson and Myers were the best all night. Ennis also had a pretty good showing. |

I think larsson has been better than Grigo. I almost want larsson to stay with the sabres the more I think about it. |

Armia was a little slow making decisions passing the puck at times but that's expected with a smaller ice surface. He is strong on the forecheck and on the puck even defensively. He didnt look out of place.
Larssons was the best player on the ice for both teams. Battled hard won face offs and was all around the ice.
I hated Flynns game. Yes he is fast but speed is useless if you can't hold onto the puck or you don't go to the open spots. At least 3 times I saw him go back door for a pass that didn't have a shot in hell of getting to him. Like I said before the game I hated that line combo. No beef. To whomever brought up the Briere Drury points Drury played with Grier Briere with Hecht and Dumont. Each line had a grinder so to say that worked the corners that line had Ennis who I thought played decent but was with 2 guys that looked lost (I didn't like Grigorenkos game either)
I thought Myers played well. Joined the rush when he was given space and didn't do anything dumb with the puck.
I thought McNabb struggled in the first 2 periods but played well defensively in the third, the goal and 2 assists doesn't hurt either. All in all they really were outplayed the first two periods but hung in there. I think we see a lot of that this year |

I didn't hate Flynn's game just thought he was put on the wrong line.
Tallinder looked like sh!t IMO. |

a little humbling will either help him or scare him off to the KHL |

The NHL/CHL need to change their agreement for this reason.
1-2 players per organization per year that can be exempt from the rule.
It gives certain players the best chance to succeed in the NHL, and honestly that's what matters for the organization that drafts them.
Just an IMO. |

I've been saying it for a while now...
McNabb & Pysyk need to be paired here in buffalo!
I would MUCH rather see McNabb with him that Tallinder
And I think Ristolainen should start the year in Rochester
Even though he's prob "NHL-ready" it won't hurt him to spend some time in the AHL and get used to the angles from the smaller rink size
Plus, we are rebuilding & there's no reason to rush him up here |

I like that idea, makes sense...
ESP when u consider the KHL factor
Unfortunately, I don't see that rule changing any time soon
