I hate that second line. Flynn is the only one that will go in the corners (not usually successful either) and he is listed very generously at 180lbs on the Sabres website I would say 170 is closer to what he really is. There is no beef on that line. Yes its only preseason but that's not a line I would want to see together in the regular season. Take away Ennis and put a guy like Girgensons on the wing and I could get behind it

I still like it. Don't need every line to be super huge and not every player who is under 6 feet is useless.

Not directed at you but as a general point I hate how many sabres fans have grown sour to players who are smaller than 6 feet because of a bad a experience with 1 or 2 players like gerbe. For real we're like the one fanbase that would be upset with drafting Nylander because of his height.

It's one thing to have a big tough guys on the third line to fill that role, but on a scoring line I would want to make sure there is enough talent before I worry about who's going to which corner and who is going to hit who.

I really don't want grigorenko spending the year with guys like Kaleta and Ott. Let him play with some skillful players so we can see what he is really capable of.

I agree. Briere? Drury?...not sure how tall Drury was, but what ever his height, he played bigger. However, I think the "souring" comes from the sabres being behind the curve on the small, speedy forward philosophy vs. well....the Bruins, basically. It seems like Regier just REFUSED to waiver from his path of having that pre-lockout (2006) team even when it started to become obvious that the league was calling penalties less and less and the larger player was becoming valuable again. For as smart as Regier looked immediately after that lockout from '06 he didn't really change much when it came to types of players he was looking for from then on out.
