A one year deal hopes both sides this year, but clearly only helps franson next year.

More importantly IMO, nonis needs to set the right precedents for future rfa's - that the leafs will use all negotiating leverage they have to sign a contract on their terms.

Getting better is right...funny guys saying he's 26 and peaked but he's never really been given a shot until last year...( not given a shot due to other talents on the team )

I agree, I'm impressed with the big lad. Says alot that he wasn't sent down today. The Leaf brass is quite impressed with him. Wow how Granberg's stock has fallen. Granberg was ahead of MacWilliam on the Leaf D depth chart at one point but not anymore.

Up front, Raymond will make this team as the missing 3rd liner. The Leafs D will consist of: Dion, Gunner, Fraser, Franson (when signed) Gardiner, Ranger, & Liles. MacWilliam will probably stay up untill Franson is signed. Reilly will go back to junior. The rest of the other D aswell as the extra forwards I don't expect to stick.

That genuis trade Burkie made for Gardiner & Lupul really re-shaped the Leafs.
-Firstly, Beauchemin wasn't workin out in TO.
-Lupul really helped Kessel become an all around player. Kessel used to be a one dimensional player till he started playing with Lupul.
-Leafs saved Lupul's career who has become an awesome, vital top 6 player.
-Jake Gardiner is an an incredible young talent. Thank God he's a Leaf.

I think the D pairings should be: Dion/Gunner Fraser/Franson (MacWilliam untill Franson is signed). & Gardiner/Ranger. Liles is the extra. I think last pairing would be awesome.

You're kidding right? The baseball swing didn't piss you off? How about falling in the offensive zone and flopping around not getting up? Believe me I watch him closely hoping to change my mind but he is terrible defensively and has a lackluster workethic at best
