Briere was the smarter long-term move. we're not winning a Cup in the next 2 years with or without Lecavalier and/or Briere. so why commit long term to Vinnie at this age? this was we signed a Frenchie. Pauline is happy. and he'll be gone in 2 years and we won't have Vinnie's money to worry about with guys like Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Eller, Emelin, etc. hitting their payday.
